This is my second visit to Backmarch House and I would recommend it to anyone. The decor is tasteful and everywhere is spotlessly clean. Scott and Ray are very accommodating and nothing is too much trouble. It is very homely and within walking distance of local shops and restaurants. Would always stay here if in the area. Tea and coffee...

I stayed at Backmarch House for 12 months whilst working in the Dockyard. Scott and Ray are both very welcoming and made my stay an enjoyable one, a real home from home. The house is situated in a nice quite area, a must for someone working long days. The rooms are kitted out with all you need, a nice big...

Thank you very much Graham. We are both delighted you enjoyed your stay and cant believe it was 12 months. It was a pleasure having you, and although I know you will be doing everything possible to avoid the travelling, should you and your wife ever be in the area again it would be great to see you. Take care...

Scott and his wife do a grand job of making you feel at home and I highly recommend the Full Scottish Breakfast - the black pudding is to die for. Always helpful in recommending places to go and visit in the area and just 20 mins on the train to Edinburgh city centre. Very friendly hosts. The rooms are very...

This was our second stay in this beautiful Georgian house and it couldn't be better. The rooms are warm, comfortable and filled with everything you need. Choice of tea bags, coffee and shortbread in room. Bathroom warm and also full of toiletries. We can only echo previous comments about the magnificent breakfast, freshly cooked and providing everything you could possibly want....

Apologies for the tardiness in my reply but I wasn't notified of your review (more likely I missed it). Delighted to have you both again and hopefully we will have the opportunity to welcome you again in the future. A pleasure to have you. Kind regards Scott & Ray (and Nala of course)

I rang this hotel, but got no reply, and did not leave any message on their answerphone. Instead I e-mailed them and had an automated reply, saying that they would be in touch with me within 24 hours, regarding my enquiry. Some days later and still waiting I have booked another hotel in Dunfermline.

Dear Peter B Apologies that we missed your email & call back in January (and I'm only just replying now due to being unaware of your issue & review until today). Backmarch House is not a hotel with full staffing but rather we are a small, family run B&B. I am unsure of exactly when you called but last year...

This is the second time we have stayed at Backmarch House and the experience was if anything better than our first visit. The accommodation in this lovely Georgian home was roomy and comfortable. Our host, Scott, made us most welcome and was at pains to ensure we had everything we needed. This included extending the central heating hours to cater...

Thank you for your kind comments & review. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay and always good to have such positive feedback from those who have stayed here previously, before we became custodians of this grand old house. Enjoy your summer back home on the Gold Coast. I'm not jealous, honest. Best wishes Scott & Ray

Dear Scott and Ray, My father and I can’t thank you both enough for your fantastic hospitality. We had three perfect days with Scott and Ray. The Georgian house is beautifully proportioned and decorated with taste. There is ample parking in the garden. The garden is being thoughtfully landscaped and appropriate seating areas are being prepared. We have to go back to see the finished product. The breakfast area is provided with fridge, microwave and dishes so you...
