Stayed here for one night having booked an Executive double at a rate of £73 as per telephone call only. We arrived at hotel to find a twin room. However the beds were put together and a king size duvet magically changed it to a double ! The house is pretty shabby and dated but rooms clean. En suite ok...

We stayed only one night at the Davaar House and will surely come back again. The house is just charming and the room we stayed in was generous and lovely decorated. We had a great night sleep and the brealfast the next day was delicious. Traveling by car and in need of a good b&b near Edinburgh? Stay at the...

The thing i hate about business trip is it takes you away from home. The owner of this place made me feel welcome in her home. Its a small, homely place with all amenities. Food and alcohol was wonderful. Would love to come again

Warm, very comfortable guesthouse/hotel. We had Room 2 on the first floor - very quiet room, comfortable bed, large bathroom and excellent shower. Annie and Russell certainly know how to make their guests feel welcome. The guest lounge, with blazing log fire and mini bar, presented an opportunity to try out Russell's splendid array of single malts which made for...

Our stay was perfect! An admirable Victorian House. The room was enormous, twice as big as the studio flat I rent when I work in Eastbourne! The room came with a big flatscreen TV and cleanliness was exceptional. Plentiful of complimentary coffee and tea. Superb generous breakfast and incomparable hospitality.

We first used the Davaar House Hotel for a function venue in Early December. I must say without a shadow of a doubt... What an absolutely great place. Good amount of parking outside, plenty of Victorian character inside, lovely wood burning stove in the lounge area, and excellent hosts in Annie and Russell. When my partners parents come over from...

One of the best hotel stays I've ever had in terms of staff hospitality and personal service. Even upon arriving, I was immediately upgraded to a larger room because I was staying for four nights. Very considerate. I used the very cosy bar lounge to do my work in the evening and they supplied me with free pots of tea...

A friendly, hotel with a good sized breakfast. The furnishings were in keeping with an older building, and the bed was comfortable. Heating was efficient which was great as it was a cold weekend outside! Has a small bar in the lounge, but we didn't use it. We chose this hotel as it was within walking distance of the town...

My partner and I stayed 1 night, we found very good. Room was good size and had everything we needed, breakfast was good and freshly cooked, it's a small hotel converted from a beautiful house, with good parking, short walk into the town centre. Staff were very welcoming and friendly, would stay there again

A lovely traditional B&B that offers a great service at great value - Only £45!! Fantastic breakfast set me up for the day. New owners are clearly investing in the business and it is paying dividends. A real gem and only 30 mins from Edinburgh
