We spent 8 days at the Albyn Townhouse while travelling around Scotland. Bus access to downtown Edinburgh is very convenient, although it truly is close enough to walk and experience the surrounding neighborhoods. Our arrival coincided with the owners holiday so we were greeted by Fernando. He was a perfect fill-in for Lydie and David and was so helpful to...

This is a very nice little hotel, the rooms are beautiful, the bed very comfortable. The room was very clean, it had a beautiful view over the city. It is easy to walk into the old city, the walk takes 10-15 minutes. The couple who owns the place are both very nice and helpful, they gave us really good advice...

Hello & thank you for taking the time to review us! we are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us. I like your description of an electric shower!!....yes it is very British indeed and helps keep houses like ours pretty without breaking historic features to accommodate modernism! it does a great job and gives you plentiful hot water!...

We stayed here for 2 nights in Oct 2013. Its a very stylish and comfortable B&B at a very nice location. Old City, the heart of Edinburgh is walkable in 20-25 min, otherwise buses are available from nearby. B&B has car parking, though it gets little sqeezed with other occupants and you need to be a skillful driver. It has...

Stayed for one night. Location was very quiet - no through road. I would imagine that if I had brought a car - parking might have been an issue. Very welcoming, very comfortable, great shower! Breakfast was delicious - fruit, cereals, home made cakes and cooked options...

Stayed at premises for a long weekend. We were in room 7 at the very top of house, lovely view of Edinburgh over the roof tops. Room was beautifully decorated with a huge bed. Breakfast was lovely and everything cooked fresh and everyone is extremly friendly and helpful. Parking is limited and you do have to pay £5 a night....

This lovely B & B is full of character. Albyn is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood about a thirty-minute walk to the center of town. It’s five minutes walk to a main drag where you can catch a bus or a taxi. Buses run quite frequently. Proprietors Lydie and David were extremely welcoming and offered valuable tips about restaurants,...

Clean, very comfortable rooms, good breakfasts, friendly staff, and a truly charming hostess. This house is back a quiet street (except for the neighboring school playground during the day, but that doesn't bother me), yet it's a block from a busy neighborhood with every kind of shop and lots of good restaurants. Very convenient for using the excellent city buses....

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The proprietors Lydie & David are friendly and helpful. They have clearly thought very hard to think of anything that might make their guest's experience at the Albyn a good one. Our twin room was clean & comfortable. We had everything that we needed. The breakfast is out of this world with so many home...

I can't speak highly enough of your hostess Lydie. Her enthusiasm is infectious and she clearly loves what she does. Breakfast gets 10/10, all freshly cooked with lots of homemade goodies. This guesthouse is better than a lot of high class hotels, sometimes it's the personal touch that counts.

Excellent Guest House. Proprietors were very welcoming and accommodated our every need. Situated within walking distance of city centre and also located close to the local shopping amenities. Will definately be back. '
