The room was warm and cosy. The bathrooms spotless! The host was delightful and attentive without being overbearing. I love that you have to take your shoes off at the door and wear slipers in the house. Keeps everything a bit cleaner. Full English breakfast is included in the

I stayed for a couple of nights whilst working in the City. The accommodation is spotlessly clean, warm and with a comfy bed. The breakfast was excellent. I was always greeted in a very friendly and welcoming manner by the hosts. I had no trouble parking outside (despite some of

Me and my wife Joan wanted to spend a day sightseeing in Edinburgh, so after quickly determining that accommodation in Edinburgh itself was rather pricey I looked for places on the outskirts and Crioch Guest House had very favourable reviews. After sending a message informing

Great comments - thank you for your recommendation. In our breakfast, we use good quality sausages and bacon from Scotland, cooked with love just before we serve it. See you again soon, James

We're so glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay and naturally we agree about Leith! There are some excellent local cafes, bars and restaurants. Our butter cookies are made locally and it's the best shortbread we've ever tasted. We like to think that we live in a sweet spot: close enough to the city centre to reach it in 15 minutes on the bus, and far away enough to park for free. We hope to welcome you back to enjoy sunny Leith. James

If you’d met the owners of this guest house you’d know James is English and his wife Dora is Peruvian, which suggests neither are racist. You’d also know how good natured both are, which leads me to believe any perceived racism was a probably a simple misinterpretation of British humour by the (Spanish?) guest. Nobody’s fault.

"No lift so if you find stairs difficult ask for a second floor room as not as many stairs. The area is quiet."
"Our room was up two flights of stairs and we had a view to the rear of the house. Probably quieter than the East Hermitage side."
"Call James, and he will know to give you the best room as he knows which is good for which person, although ALL THEIR ROOMS ARE EXCELLENT."
"If you desire comfort re being made welcome irrespective of your cultural background, don't stay here."
"We enjoyed the family room (sleeps 4) which had a beautiful view of the park."
