My initial telephone enquiry was dealt with efficiently and our subsequent booking call was confirmed by email. Mac and Marian's pleasant telephone manner foretold the welcome we received on our arrival. Our room was clean, comfortable and generously sized with a sea view. My medical need for a gluten-free diet was handled with interest and understanding. We enjoyed both the...

Mac and Marian obviously enjoy what they're doing. The house has everything a good B&B should have, plus some very tasteful artwork, a very friendly atmosphere, a beach 50 yards away, and a very good bus service into the city.

My son and I had a wonderful time in Edinburgh and loved staying at Straven Guest House. The breakfasts were delicious! We also enjoyed walking the promenade to the local pub. Mac & Marion were very welcoming and helpful. Loved staying where it was quiet!!!

Stayed with Mac & Marian for the Rugby League Magic Weekend. Superb hosts, nothing too much trouble so comfortable and very friendly. Some good restaurants nearby and a lovely beach and promenade just yards away. Will be back next year if not before. Thanks so much to both Mac & Marian

Easy to locate from major routes. Spotlessly clean and much better than other more expensive B&B's we have frequented. Hosts were really helpful and full of information - nothing seemed to be too much for them. Fantastic breakfast selection and beautifully cooked. Within easy reach of the beach/promenade which was spotless, great bus service into Edinburgh, why take a car...

Once again we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Straven Guest House. The location is ideal for walking, dining out and regular bus service to City Centre. The standard of the service and rooms was, again, excellent. We will return again and have no hesitation in recommending this B & B. www.stravenguesthouse.com

My wife and I stayed at Straven Guest House for our 1st wedding anniversary. Upon arrival we were kindly greeted, and instantly made to feel welcome. We were given the choice, in advance of about five different options for the following day’s breakfast. The house, despite being very large had a warm feel to it immediately allowed you to relax...
