When we arrived at guest house we were greeted by the manager our room wasn't quite ready for us but we were early . We left our luggage and manager gave us directions to city centre. First impressions of guest house were average . We returned later in day and we're shown to our room which was at top of...

Excellent accommodation! Right on the doorstep of local bus routes. About 40mins walk from Corn Exchange, where our gig was, we walked it but probably wouldn't do it again! Not best placed for the trains though, taxi of 5mins to Haymarket. Breakfast is served early, so you'll probably miss it if you've had a late night but plenty of places...

Room was on the top floor (room 7) so you need to be fit to attempt the narrow winding staircase. Room cosy and warm. Lovely views out over the back of the hotel and quiet. Nice friendly staff. Breakfast yummy and plentiful. Excellent bus service just outside the front door. Night porter to allow you in after 10.00 at night...

We stayed here for the rugby, it's about a 30 minute walk to Murrayfield at a leisurely pace. When we arrived our room wasn't quite ready and we were keen to get to the ground to enjoy the atmosphere. The staff were really helpful as they gave us a room key and looked after our luggage and then later put...

After reading some of the reviews I was a little apprehensive I didn't know what to expect. I didn't need to worry. We arrived early and told they were just finishing up and we could wait in the dining room and offered a drink while we waited. It only took about five minutes before the room was ready. We stayed...

Stayed here as I was struggling to find something cheap near the centre of town. I would say it was ok but nothing luxurious. I believe it's on the bus route for a number of local tour busses so perhaps very convenient for leisure travellers but as I was travelling for business it was a bit too far out of...

Very helpful staff, and husband loved the breakfasts! Rooms are fresh and clean - which should be a given, but isn't always, and the period features of the house are preserved nicely. Very good location for getting into town on the bus and visiting attractions. No lift, so if stairs are a problem, say so when booking and you will...

Arrived and shown to Room 1 on the ground floor beside the front door, reception and kitchen - big mistake!!!! Doorbell rang at 1am to let people in who continued to an upstairs bedroom where we could hear every footstep. 5am awake again due to people leaving who stood outside our door talking as if it was the middle of...
