I recently booked a three night stay in premier inn, lauriston place Edinburgh. On our arrival, an early flight from Belfast, the receptionist Charlene was very helpful in explaining that whilst check in wasn't until 2pm we could leave our bags in a secure room. The following morning my son and I went down to breakfast at 9.30am! A bad...

You know what to expect with a premier inn and this one is no different. It has modern rooms with a great shower and the Hypnos beds. It was comfortable and we enjoyed our stay there. There is currently a lift out which is a bit of a drag and the hotel was evacuated in the Sunday morning due to...

Stayed here in March for the 6 nations. Great place to stay and an excellent location. Rooms are very spacious and clean. Staff couldn't have been friendlier, very good service. The meal deal is always a winner - 2 courses, a drink and unlimited breakfast can't go wrong.

The hotel is as you would expect a Premier Inn to be. The decor is clean and modern. The staff were welcoming and friendly, answering any questions we had. The rooms are a good size, this meant that although we had a 'family' room there was still lots of space to move around with the 2 extra beds made up....

This is a good place to stay when visiting Edinburgh. Fully upgraded rooms. Staff polite and very helpful. When I was there you had to book for the restaurant even though it was not that busy but could of just been lack of kitchen staff.

Great location, only 10 minutes from the castle. Despite being on a fairly busy road, our room was so quiet we barely heard anything around us. Updated rooms and the premier inn beds are so comfy, we slept brilliantly! The staff are friendly and helpful. This was our 2nd visit to Lauriston Place and next time we're in Edinburgh, we'll...

Staying in Old Town

Neighbourhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
