Great location, only a five minute walk to the Royal Mile etc. The rooms were modern, really clean and the bed very comfy! Breakfast was delicious and excellent value; dinner was also very nice but not as good value. The staff were very nice and extremely helpful. My first time in a Premier Inn and I would definitely stay again.

This offers a great location with everywhere within 15 mins walk. The staff, particularly Stuart were very helpful and the rooms as you would expect from Premier Inn - comfortable and clean. My daughter likes Premier Inn as she gets a proper bed rather than a campbed offered in many other hotels. Enjoyed our stay and couldn't have asked for...

Was visiting my daughter studying at Edinburgh, this hotel perfect for student accommodation in West Tolcross and the university. Hotel is clean and comfortable and the staff pleasant and polite. I have no hesitation in recommending.

the hotel is approx 10 min walk from grassmarket.waverley and haymarket stations are a 15min walk away. if you are placed on the 5th floor a good nights sleep is not guaranteed due to the air conditioning unit. the lift was very slow although there was a new lift being installed. our room backed on to another hotel so we...

Great location. Normal premier in standards. Helpful staff. Clean rooms and bathroom. Would definitely use hotel again. Only down side was the noisy neighbours who thought it ok to put the television on at 6.00am with the volume far too high.

Have stayed here twice. Forst time was very nice second time the air conditioning panel was hanging off the wall and the shower head was literally caked in brown grime witch was disgusting. Complained and had it fixed but i had to stay awake for two seporate staff members to come solve the isses

Hello and thanks for your review. I'm sorry to hear that you were disappointed by your second visit to the Edinburgh Central (Lauriston Place) hotel as you experienced a few issues with your room. I was concerned to hear that the air conditioning was faulty and the shower head was quite dirty. This is not what we'd expect for our...

Great location. The hotel is about a 15minute walk to the city centre. There are a few bars, cafes and a Sainsburys just down the street from the hotel. So all very handy. The staff were lovely and gave us a map if the city with markers on it where everything was which was good. Our room was cleaned everyday....

We wanted somewhere a bit away from the main drag with the hotel about 10 minutes walk from the tram system. Checking in was painless and the room was a good size. As stated elsewhere, only one lift was working but this did not overly inconvenience us. We did not stop for breakfast, so unable to comment on the catering.

Good location, car park available couple of minutes walk away at Princes Exchange, Reigo St (£12 for 24 hrs instead of £15 if you get ticket validated at hotel). Bed very comfortable. Room spacious & in good condition. Would stay here again. Breakfast good, but wish Premier Inn had potato scones available with cooked breakfast at their Scottish hotels.

1st time in a P Inn and it was great. Clean, very friendly staff and a great bed as the adds tell you. The room we had was so quiet and dark we could have slept all day! Did not try the breakfast as wanted to see the delights of the town, but it smelt great too.

Staying in Old Town

Neighbourhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
