The hotel is the same as all other Premier Inns. It was very clean, quiet and in a great center location close to the Grass Market. The staff are great (especially the bar staff who kept us well watered). There was only 1 lift working and it was a wait for the lift. The only issue I have is that...

My stay was from the 1st to 5th May. On arrival I was told that there was only one lift and after a major wait I walked up to the second floor walking up two flights of stairs is not a problem once you get your case to your room. The cooked breakfasts were a little on the greasy side,...

Stayed here for two nights during the Rugby European finals weekend. The hotel itself was fine and the beds comfortable as expected with Premier Inn. However the food at meal time was truly dreadful. The restaurant was empty but when we went tried to get a table (for 10) they weren't sure if they could accommodate us. In the end...

we stayed for two nights, we picked this over a more central hotel purely because of the car park nearby. the room was excellent, clean, modern and roomy- we added in breakfast too which was lovely with a good selection. £5 in a taxi to the city centre which was 10 minutes at the most.

Location was good, easy walking distance to the Royal Mile, etc. Staff were excellent going the extra step to assist when we wanted to make a last minute tour. Clean room and a good bed. Amenities were good, reasonable selection of food and good value for the money.

I've stayed here before and this time it was much busier due to the European rugby finals weekend. And in common with most hotels in the city, prices were hiked up because of demand from the travelling fans; very cheeky, to be quite honest. The usual Premier Inn offering in a convenient location for railway station, the Royal Mile, the...

Staying in Old Town

Neighbourhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
