I was made very welcome the minute I arrived. Maggie explained where eating places were etc. The room was very clean and comfortable with all the extras, hairdryer, extra pillows, blanket, fancy lotions and potions. I was there to study and with free wifi happily studied. It has easy access to various tourist spots in Edinburgh. There was extras such...

Absolutely can't fault this guest house. We were warmly welcomed and made to feel at home right away. The room was great... I've never seen so many pillows and cushions on a hotel bed! They provided loads of city guides and were really knowledgeable of where to go and what to see in Edinburgh. The breakfast was included in the...

I was nervous about a solo trip to Edinburgh, particularly since I was staying outside of the city center. Upon arrival Maggie made me feel incredibly welcome, safe and comfortable! She showed me all the different ways to get into town and I realized Highfield is in the perfect location! You can get to city center via multiple bus stops...

My wife and I, together with our two kids were delighted to stumble across this delightful B&B run by Maggie and Gordon. We had arrived exhausted from an overnight train trip from London to Inverness, followed by a 3 hour drive and were warmly welcomed. With the boys too tired to go out, we were offered plates and cutlery to...

My partner and I stayed at Highfield Guest House for 4 nights in September 2012. From our first email and telephone exchange and throughout our four days there, Maggie, Gordon and Kate were the consummate hosts. Funny, warm, thoughtful, and endlessly helpful The house is charming, absolutely spotless, extremely comfortable and spacious. The only drawback is that everwhere we stayed...

My sister and I stayed for 7 nights in September 2012. From the moment we arrived until our departure, nothing was to much trouble for Maggie or Kate (Gordon was on a Golfing trip in Troon) The guest house is very very clean and the breakfasts are more than enough to set you up for the day. It was obvious...

An unassuming typical Victorian exterior - but once the door is open the smell of furniture polish recently applied excites the nose. The welcome here is second to none, we were only staying one night and we got full supportive instructions on how to navigate the city and find appropriate refreshment. The small room at the rear with views of...

We stayed at the Highfield Guest House for 7 nights recently. Maggie and Gordon, the owners of the B&B, met us at the door upon arrival, helped us get settled and then spent quite a bit of time helping us to get acclimated to the area with an offer of maps and bus information. The B&B is a pretty brisk...
