We spent 5 nights here and found it a great base for exploring Edinburgh and the countryside. Isobel and James are friendly and considerate hosts who helped us with advice, directions, and any info we needed. The flat itself is charming, the rooms are spacious and the breakfasts excellent. It's easy to walk to the bus stop (or downtown) and... More

I'll back up everything I've said before. We decided as long as they're in business we'll keep using this as our base for every return trip to Edinburgh and we will be back, as we love the city. We were here for festival season this time and easily got around. It can be a bit of a walk from the... More

My partner and I stayed for a couple of nights for the Hogmanay and were extremely impressed by the sizeable room, delicious breakfast and general hospitality from Isobel and her husband. The little touches such as stocked fridge and complimentary snacks in the room were much appreciated as well. Located in a nice quiet residential area but all the major... More

We stayed here for 2 nights to see our first Edinburgh fringe. It was perfect, an east 20/25 min walk from the centre, or on a good bus route if you prefer. we were able to park our car and leave it in a secure location at the back of the flat. parking is mostly permitted or expensive. Stayed for 2 nights during the Edinburgh fringe festival and loved it! The room was huge and bright, mini fridge and tea supplies, ample chairs etc and little additions like a hairdryer and ironing board. We even got garage space for our car! Breakfast in the dining room was great with plenty of options. The gardens are impressive and would... More

I was in Edinburgh on business and stayed 4 nights at Blacket Garden Flat. I have been to Edinburgh several times and stayed in various B&Bs. This was the best. It is tucked into a quiet residential street just off of busy Minto Street. It is very near a bus stop with numerous buses that go into the city center.... More

We stopped for two nights in Edinburgh to enjoy this wonderful city and our stay was made all the more enjoyable thanks to the Blacket Garden Flat. Isobel and Jas were wonderful hosts, making us feel welcome from our arrival to our departure. The room was nicely appointed, with two comfy twin beds and a very nice en-suite bathroom. From... This B&B is in a beautiful Edinburgh street, a straightforward 30 minute walk to the centre of the old town. There are plenty of places to eat and drink in the area, all within a casual stroll. However, the beauty of this B&B is not so much its location as its interior. Our room was very large, with an ample... More

Stopped here for two nights to go to The Open. We'd stayed about 5 years ago and I'm pleased to report the standards haven't dropped. Nice spacious bedrooms complete with a much needed fridge (given how high the temperatures were) with water, juices, fruit, sweets and crisps. Breakfasts were excellent in the cosy dining room and beautifully presented. As there... More

We loved our stay with Isobel, finding her to be the most kind, good-humored, and helpful host we could have asked for. The rooms were large, welcoming, comfortable and filled with thoughtful touches, such as snacks, maps, and books about the region. The breakfasts were superb! We can't wait to return.
