Nice hotel to stay in Edinburgh. Nice rooms, quite, good breakfast and very clean. Was just for a few days but will be my option everytime I need to be in the city again. Thanks to all staff. Very kind, always smilling. Wi-fi with some problems but nothing special.

The best thing about this hotel is the location, we flew to Edinburgh and were able to get the tram directly from the airport to right outside the hotel! The tram runs into town as well but it's also only a 20 minute walk to the shops/castle. We were also able to get the tram to the zoo (5 minute...

Excellent location especially for events at BT Murrayfield, close to transport links and plenty of choice in local area for food and drink. Room basic but very usable. All staff very welcoming and friendly. Link to pub below is a bonus.

The linen seemed neat but the furniture was a little bit dusty. It wasn't the best place I've been but for the money it wasn't bad. Also is reasonably well situated, only a half an hour away from the center.

Stayed here for weekend for the Italy rugby game, and is ideal for what we needed. We made two separate bookings for each night as originally we were only planning a one night stay but at the last minute decided to stay the Friday night before the game. Reception could not have been more helpful on check in, making sure...

The front desk & housekeeping staff were remarkable; Very courteous, professional, knowledgeable & helpful (as if on loan from 5 star resort hotels). The hotel facilities & condition were very pleasant, although they were remodeling. The rooms were spiffy clean (including windows, mirrors and glass) & very comfortable with the only criticism being a need for better soundproofing (from doors...

Tune Hotel Haymarket is a budget lodging that allows the consumer to decide how much to spend on accommodations by making everything an optional add-on, from windows to cleaning frequency and all features and services in between. The concept is incredibly practical for travelers who prefer basic comforts over the expense of unnecessary frills. All rooms include a private shower...

My brother and I had checked in into this budget hotel. The stay was okay type I would say, since after all you are mentally prepared that it is a budget hotel. The location is prime!!! However, there are some essentials which needs to be maintained. The TV in the room was not working and we had to shift to...

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighbourhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theatres and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
