My partner and I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room was impeccably clean and spacious; the staff were friendly and informative and the location was perfect for exploring the city. The hotel was easy to find from the airport bus and the 24-hour reception was beneficial, as it allowed us to check out without and worries.

Booked this hotel through the BA website and got a fantastic deal. Though the rooms are small, they are clean and if you wanted any extras they were happy to oblige. Located around the corner from Haymarket station, it is only a 20 minute walk from the Centre of Edinburgh, or there are numerous bus routes into town if you...

Paid £71 upfront for one night, double room but single occupancy. Room was absolutely tiny, only 2 hangers for clothes (no drawers), tv keep freezing because of poor signal, very dark with cheap plywood decor, had to keep my light on at all times because I overlooked a wall with a ventilation system outside it so there was barely any...

Stayed here for Valentine;s Weekend. This hotel has a very good location - it is about 3 minutes from a bus stop to the airport, 10 minutes walk to the historical city. The stuff was very kind and helpful, able to provide breafast for 6 o´clock in the morning. The only two things we found bad was a very soft bed, for me it was...

We were travelling to Scotland and based ourselves in Edinburgh to visit Edinburgh and Glasgow. The hotel was BA recommended, hence we knew it would be a decent stay. Turned out quite perfect for us as it was well-located, very close to the train station, bus stop and cabs were available right outside. Even the Airlink bus from Edinburgh airport...

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighbourhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theatres and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
