The room in John Burnett House was beyond my expectation, more comfortable and modern than I'd imagined, lovely and warm and extremely clean. I was visiting my daughter who was in The Fringe Festival and after spending time in the middle of a busy city, I found it very relaxing to go back to the Halls, a welcome contrast to...

Stayed in Baird House. Doors banging all night, doors squeaking open and closed all night. Dumpster collecting rubbish outside my window at 07:30am. Complained about squeaky doors to House reception but didn't notice improvement. How hard can it be to oil the doors and put slow closing hinges on them so that they can't be banged??? What kind of facility...

I stayed here for one bigt while viewing flats in the city. This is a perfectly decent place to stay for backpackers or lone travellers - cheap and clean. Room fairly small (uni dorm) but decently furnished. Bed quite comfy. Room internet didnt work, avoid paying for it, though they did give me my money back without any haggling. Service...

The rooms are clean enough, and the staff are friendly and helpful. But this really is just a dorm, after all. The rooms are too small for two people. It would be fine for a single backpacker. The wireless (which you'll pay extra for) doesn't actually work in the rooms. The walls are paper-thin. When anyone talks in the hallway...

We stayed at Pollock Halls during the Fringe. It was the most reasonably priced accommodations we could find. There was always a friendly, helpful person at the Reception desk. It was an easy bus ride into the city and convenient to Arthurs Seat and Holyrood House. The rooms were clean. The breakfasts were plentiful and, although we knew there were...

We stayed in John Burnett House. This is exceptionally clean accommodation. However, the shower cubicle is tiny - not for rubgy players! A good walk into the City, or an easy bus ride.

The accommodation was nice and clean. The bed was comfortable and it was in a good location for the Fringe and Edinburgh Centre. The breakfast was “halls” standard but there was plenty of choice and you could eat as much as you like. We would definitely go back again!

My colleagues and I stayed here for one night last week. We normally stay in more normal hotels but being sent to Edinburgh during the Festival meant we had to look to economise in some way. The rooms are good. The walls are alarmingly thin. We were all in Baird. The bed springs squeaked in every room. The toilets/showers/baths are...

Edinburgh is expensive in Festive season and good places book really quickly. This is good quality uni accommodaton close to the city centre and loads of cabs always available. Breakfast is on a massive scale but the food is freshly cooked and of good quality. Room clean and tidy, I'd stay here again
