It does what it says. Offers a clean, mid-standard quality with no added features and no bells & whistles. Efficient in its operation, but do not arrive before 3pm or you get hit with a £10 early check-in fee.

This hotel is in a fantastic location. Less than 15 min walk to anywhere you'd want to go in Edinburgh. For that reason alone I'd def stay there again. The rooms were basic but comfortable. No free breakfast and no free wi-fi is a down side. Unfortunately the Edinburgh free wi-fi didn't work well in the room either, so if...

The hotel is in a back street behind princes st but very much a back alley. Once through the door things looked much better the staff friendly with a nice smile. We took the lift to the 4th floor and found our room which was large with a bed and desk and a very nice shower which had hot water...

Really enjoyed our 3 nights here. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was situated near everything with amazing travel links nearby to buses, trams, coaches and trains. It was a fairly small hotel so no breakfaat options except a little breakfast box thing. The room was nice and big for this sort of price range. The toilet...

Good place , close to Wawerly Station. Outside of the station you can take the bus to the airport and vice versa . The hotel is impotent and if you are lucky you can get the higher level with a beautiful view.

Wasn't expecting much to be honest but was so wrong. Anne behind reception was brilliant, really friendly and so helpful, a credit to Travelodge. Room was big, comfortable and very clean. Couldn't have been happier with our choice. Had the best time and wouldn't hesitate to book again when we return, hopefully very soon.

DO NOT GO THERE! Firstly please note the address is Central Princes Street - it is only when you get there and look for it, you find it up a dark filthy littered lane and discover the main entrance amongst the detritus of drunks etc. The room was large enough but filthy. - I have photographs where i wrote a...

Directly opposite the train station and central to the city, typical Travelodge, clean and tidy without any thrills, I had a large family room which seemed empty as Travelodge don't provide much furniture, slightly noisy at the front and the Bagpiper busker outside wore a bit thin after 5 nights

Staying in Princes Street and Gardens

Neighbourhood Profile
Princes Street and Gardens
Glaswegians tease Edinburghers that their High Street is only half one, since buildings only line one side. But what they don’t say is how extraordinary the views are from Princes Street as a result. From here you look onto expansive and decorative public gardens beneath the mighty basalt cliffs on which Edinburgh’s Castle stands proud above the rest of the dramatic old town skyline. Yet many of those on Princes Street look the other way, as they’re concerned with chain store shopping or catching the tram or a train at main train station Waverley. But it’s not all utility here; the Scottish National Gallery rewards purposeless wandering, and December’s huge winter market in the gardens begins a season of revelry which ends with Hogmanay, Britain’s largest New Year’s street party.
