Windmill House is a wonderful Georgian house with spacious, well decorated rooms and a fabulous ensuite bathroom. On arrival I was shown where the guest sitting room was before being taken upstairs to my room. I was told that badgers came out to be fed at night but alas I failed to see them. Breakfast was served in a beautiful...

Windmill House is elegant and beautiful, set in pretty, tranquil grounds just a few minutes walk from the main road into the city centre, only 5-10 minutes away by bus/taxi. You could easily feel you were in the middle of the countryside once there though. The house and rooms are very spacious, the beds fabulously comfortable, with large bathrooms and great...

Quite hard to find so make sure you have good directions. If arriving late, try not to disturb the feeding badgers! Ample free parking. Hard to think your only a mile from the centre with the badgers and other wildlife. Lovely Georgian house. Our room was brilliant; spacious, decorated exquisitely, powerful shower, great comfy bed. No tea/coffee/kettle in the room...

We have stayed here several times. Previously B and B cost £55. They now add £15 to cover breakfast. ( carton orange juice! ) As such £70 is too expensive. Numerous other better value accommodations are available. I doubt if we will return.

We stayed at the Windmill House recently and would highly recommend it. It is a beautiful home and the rooms are large and very nice. The house is situated on a hill in a very nice area of Edinburgh. We did not have a car while staying there, so it was a little difficult walking up the hill to the...

Arrival reception poor . We stayed two nights and during the afternoon of our first day's stay we returned to find no heating or hot water available this was at the beginning of March and no one at home .The flushing of the WC was also not functioning correctly. The morning of departure there was no one available to complete...

House was very comfortable. It was in December when we stayed and there was a lot of ice and snow still around. The house is at the top of a steep drive which was very difficult for taxis to get to because of the ice. However, we put our walking boots on and managed to get out. We had a...

This is a great B&B. Excellent room, very comfortable bed and great breakfast. Vivienne and Mike are excellent hosts. It's handy for the Museum of Modern Art and a walk into town takes about half an hour, either along the Water of Leith as mentioned by another reviewer or along the road instead of waiting for a bus. As the...

We stayed here for a couple of nights, to see the city and on our way further North. Mrs Scott warmly welcomed us; our room was very nicely decorated and comfortable, with a large ensuite bathroom, and super views over the valley of the Water of Leith. Windmill House is at the end of a cul-de-sac and hidden away up...

One of the pleasures of travelling is finding a delightful little hotel with atmosphere and charm. We felt like the Windmill House was a real find! Although not overwhelmingly impressive from the outside, once you step inside everything changes. The entryway is elegant, with a grand stairway leading up to the rooms on the second level. The rooms are an absolute...
