We stayed at the Princes Street Premier Inn in Feb/Mar 2016. This was our first experience of using the Premier Inn chain and I am pleased to say we were not disappointed. The location is perfect to explore Edinburgh and the staff were all friendly and helpful. The rooms are plenty big enough for a city break with very comfortable...

This hotel has everything, great location for exploring the city, unbelievable view of the castle from our room (315), lovely breakfast and excellent staff team. The receptionist was great and very helpful and there's a left luggage room which is useful. Validating the parking ticket saved £15 on the 24 hour parking rate so well worth knowing. Would definitely stay...

Just a very brief stay for the Edinburgh half marathon. Hotel is very clean with great staff who are very attentive. We would have loved a room at the front of the hotel with a view of the castle and I'm certain this may have been possible if they had not been fully booked. (I'll know next time to ask...

We stayed here one night during the week as the weekend prices are very high. The breakfast was really nice quality. Plenty of choice and quality food. Some items made to order so nice and fresh. Front desk staff took time to help us with bus numbers for routes to Holyrood and out to the Botanic gardens. A left luggage...

Great, central location. Easy to get around by bus or tram. Views of the Castle and Princes St were lovely. Breakfast was a bit to be desired- I'd suggest you go around the corner and it would serve you better and less expensive. In-room electric kettle was a great feature. Would def stay here again.

Good air-conditioned family room, no street noise in our location at back. Amazing location on Princes Street - perfect for us, the Airlink 100 bus from airport (cheap and fast - 25mins) stopped just 100m from door of hotel. Shoppers' paradise, both Princes Street and George Street. We walked everywhere in New and Old town in from here and our...

This was an extremely good stay of 4 nights. The staff are unfailingly helpful and although I normally loath the 'enjoy the rest of your day' type of greeting, Premier Inn staff manage to make such salutations sound genuine! Seriously - excellent location, reliable service and accommodation. Stayed on the 6th floor as I'd asked for a quiet room and...

Stayed in Premier Inn for 6 nights. Beds were comfy though a little creaky. Hotel room was a little bare with only towels and shower foam provided. However given the price point, I had no problems with it. Great location with it being in the heart of princes Street. We walked to everywhere. All in all, a recommended stay.

I booked two rooms on the Internet a few months ago, very easy friendly website to use. When we arrived at the Waverley Train station we didn't know how far up Princes St the hotel was, so got in a taxi with all our suitcases. It cost £5.00 but it was worth it as the hotel is quite a way...

Staying in Princes Street and Gardens

Neighbourhood Profile
Princes Street and Gardens
Glaswegians tease Edinburghers that their High Street is only half one, since buildings only line one side. But what they don’t say is how extraordinary the views are from Princes Street as a result. From here you look onto expansive and decorative public gardens beneath the mighty basalt cliffs on which Edinburgh’s Castle stands proud above the rest of the dramatic old town skyline. Yet many of those on Princes Street look the other way, as they’re concerned with chain store shopping or catching the tram or a train at main train station Waverley. But it’s not all utility here; the Scottish National Gallery rewards purposeless wandering, and December’s huge winter market in the gardens begins a season of revelry which ends with Hogmanay, Britain’s largest New Year’s street party.
