Excellent central location and very helpful staff. My aunt has limited mobility and this hotel has limited access at the front so they assisted us through the back delivery entrance where the taxi dropped us! They also replaced a mattress we were unhappy with, and brought ice bucket and towels when my aunt injured herself in Edinburgh following a fall....

The location is great and an easy walk (give or take some hills and stairs) to places such as the Royal Mile. The hotel has a great view of the castle so be sure to get a window seat at breakfast. The beds are great and the rooms clean and quiet.

We have stayed at a few premier inns and find that in general you know what are getting. Lots of things tend to be just average or ok. I would never rate any as bad but usually don't rate them as excellent either. This one was different for two reasons: first it was quite expensive compared to others we have...

We stayed for a weekend at the beginning of September and enjoyed it. Firstly, my experience of all of the staff that I had dealings with were excellent. They were all friendly and helpful - what a nice change!! The rooms are clean and quite well appointed. For the money I think it represents good value. We did not eat...

Stopped here for one night to break journey and meet friends. Bad odour in bathroom reported immediately, and a second time, but not resolved adequately. Smelt like a dirty mop had been used to clean room...or even left under the bath! Then kept awake by what sounded like plumbing problems from floors above only to discover at 4 am in...

Hi Nik Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us. Spent two nights here. Basic and simple but the room was clean and quite. About 3 blocks from the station so easy walk to get to. No view to speak of from my room, but I understand you can ask for a castle view room but this may cost extra.

Premier Inns are all very similar and all excellent value for money, especially the breakfasts. But this one is just that little bit better, and it's probably all down to the welcoming, friendly and very efficient staff. The service industry in major city centres doesn't always shine, but it does here and the people who make that happen are the...

The location of this Premier Inn is ideal for visiting Edinburgh If possible try to book a bedroom overlooking Princes Street/ Edinburgh Castle, stunning views.. You are also in easy reach of a large amount of visitor centres ie Museums etc. Edinburgh is unique it's the only place in the UK having an extinct volcano overlooki9ng the City.

Its all about getting what you expect and being confident that you will not be disappointed. Great location, close to the train station (10 mins) with spacious rooms and friendly helpful staff. We just keep coming back to Premier Inn's as it makes deciding which hotel to book a simple choice.

This hotel is very wheelchair friendly, the staff are very helpful and friendly. Our room was spacious and had a wet room with drive in shower, the bed was a good size and a decent height for getting on and off from the wheelchair . The meals are value for money and the breakfast covered for everyone. The hotel is...

Staying in Princes Street and Gardens

Neighbourhood Profile
Princes Street and Gardens
Glaswegians tease Edinburghers that their High Street is only half one, since buildings only line one side. But what they don’t say is how extraordinary the views are from Princes Street as a result. From here you look onto expansive and decorative public gardens beneath the mighty basalt cliffs on which Edinburgh’s Castle stands proud above the rest of the dramatic old town skyline. Yet many of those on Princes Street look the other way, as they’re concerned with chain store shopping or catching the tram or a train at main train station Waverley. But it’s not all utility here; the Scottish National Gallery rewards purposeless wandering, and December’s huge winter market in the gardens begins a season of revelry which ends with Hogmanay, Britain’s largest New Year’s street party.
