We don't think the current Premier Inn product qualifies as excellent but you can always rely on cleanliness, a friendly welcome and a comfortable bed. We did find the location excellent for us and only a 10/15 minute walk from the station. We followed three walks (courtesy of AA Walks) that all started in the vicinity. Old Town, New Town...

We have just returned from a two night stay, the hotel is in a fab spot, close enough to walk to lots of places of interest and we were very lucky as we were on the front with a view of the castle. The staff were all friendly, the room was clean, the bed comfy and the breakfast was good,...

I've stayed at this PI quite a few times and felt it was time for a up to date review. We were coming through to Edinburgh for the Friday night Stereophonics gig so booking this Inn was an easy choice for us. Staff were excellent, Chris on reception ( hope I've got your name right) thanks for the umbrella and...

Brought our teens for a city break. Fabulous room on 3rd view. At our request, got rooms close to friends and with a stunning castle view. Room was clean, functional and all our needs met. Receptionist, Chris, couldn't have been more helpful. Will be back.

Stayed here the other night and I'm perhaps unlucky but after reading the reviews I'm not sure how they are so generous we got a room on the 3rd floor it was a bit dark and depressing with a view into what looked like a office block and the window in the room did not open to let the fresh...

We chose to stay here again both because of its incredibly central location and access to all the sites we wished to see, and because we really like the staff and their helpfulness and cordiality. Happily, several of those there this year remembered us from l;last year and we them. Again this year we were rewarded with Princes Street rooms...

We stayed at the Premier Inn on Prince Street. We had two teenagers with us and got a family room which was very big and everyone had a bed. (the sofa bed wasn't that great). The location is perfect. We walked from Waverly station and were able to catch a bus right outside to go elsewhere in the city. It...

Had a wonderful stay here. Room was spotless, service was friendly and welcoming. The location is great . Walking distance to everything. Just about a 5-10 min. walk to Waverley train station. Staying in Princes Street and Gardens

Neighbourhood Profile
Princes Street and Gardens
Glaswegians tease Edinburghers that their High Street is only half one, since buildings only line one side. But what they don’t say is how extraordinary the views are from Princes Street as a result. From here you look onto expansive and decorative public gardens beneath the mighty basalt cliffs on which Edinburgh’s Castle stands proud above the rest of the dramatic old town skyline. Yet many of those on Princes Street look the other way, as they’re concerned with chain store shopping or catching the tram or a train at main train station Waverley. But it’s not all utility here; the Scottish National Gallery rewards purposeless wandering, and December’s huge winter market in the gardens begins a season of revelry which ends with Hogmanay, Britain’s largest New Year’s street party.
