Very welcoming staff and great location. Room was clean and comfy and warm. Plenty of extra tea and coffee which was nice at the end of a day sight seeing. Close to the tram stop. Plenty of nearby bars and coffee shops.

Excellent location and very clean and quiet. Not as many facilites as in other travelodges (no bar or restaurant) but worth the price for the location. We stayed on the quiet floor which lived up to its name. The only complaint I’d have is that...More

The room was great and we really enjoyed our stay. It was close enough to walk everywhere we wanted to go. The room was cleaned and the bed made every day which was excellent. The only down side was the people next door partying loudly...More

The pluses first, very decent location, the staff very helpful, friendly and basically nice. Cost of course very good. Minuses bed covers hard, rough and I’m sure we’re washed but still had stains! Very basic room but hence the cost. Not hotel’s fault but next...More

Overall very pleased, our only slight gripe was the bin or recycling people were in action very early in the morning next door and were noisy with glass smashing etc, But the service and staff were very helpful in general :-)

Suits and shopping bags rule the streets of New Town, until after dark when strappy dresses come out to play. The architecture along roads like George Street helps give it a swank and formal feel: it’s a planned Georgian development of regal townhouses, geometric

squares, and self-important statues. But it’s also a very wanderable neighbourhood, with a healthy bustle at almost any time of day and fine people-watching in places like St Andrew's Square which fills with picnickers around lunch. You’ll also find a series of cheerful basement bistros on Hanover Street, while dark Rose Street has something of the feel of an undiscovered back alley and is chock-full of characterful pubs and small independent shops.

‘Business’ rooms aren’t different at all from any other, they advertise them as all being on the same floor in a more ‘quiet’ environment to appeal to the business customer. However my room was classed as Business while my friend’s room next door was considered a standard, so not entirely sure where the logic comes from. Both our rooms faced Queen Steer by chance, honestly nothing to see other than the road and thick trees though so you’re not missing out if you don’t get one of those rooms.
