We've stayed at the Leonardo Hotel Edinburgh City Centre for six nights at the end of November and when I booked the hotel, I was fully aware of the fact that by the time we would arrive, Leonardo would be running the hotel for more than a month. I assumed that this was more than enough time to transform the... More

Comfortable Hotel that we stayed in one night after going to one of the Scotland Rugby Games, 15-20 minute walk to Murrayfield, a couple of minutes walk to/from the Haymarket train station and pubs. Exactly what we needed.

Stayed here 25th to 27th November for a long weekend in Edinburgh. The staff were friendly and managed to check us in early which was a great as we had a 2 year old with us. The hotel is not too far from the centre of Edinburgh (15 walk) which is great, the breakfast was fantastic and there was plenty.... More

Recently stayed here for 3 nights for a break. Staff was friendly, they managed to check us in early which was a great point. Location is great as the Centre is just 15 mins walk away. Hotel and the room itself is very dated but I guess it is because they just took over from premier inn. All in all... More

The hotel was good value for money, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The beds were comfy and the rooms were clean. The only downside would be the building works next door - very loud but can't be helped by the hotel and the hot water in the bath ran out brown also due to the building works.

Dear Nicole, Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay. I'm glad that you found us to be good value for money and I apologise for the disturbance caused by the building works nearby. We have thankfully been assured that there will not be any more problems with the water. Kind Regards Lucy Management Team More

Good location in the city center, close to pretty much everything you would want to see. Clean room, very good powerful shower. Still technically a Premier Inn but added a bit of their own touch. Full Breakfast is £10 per person and that's the only option available as they don't do continental separately, unfortunately, as I thought that got food... More

After a long train journey we simply wanted to eat in and relax. The website advertised a restaurant and indeed there is one.. However it's closed. According to the Barman " We've been taken over and don't know what's happening" Watch this space... I've a feeling this is only the beginning of the story.

This is clearly a Premier Inn with a new sign above the door.... Not sure how long it's been open, but I don't think it's been maintained very well. Check in. 7 in the que, one person on reception - not his fault, and he was doing his best.... The room. Good size, but we had requested a cot bed... More

I am really disappointed to hear about your experience. This is certainly not up to the high standards that we strive to achieve at Leonardo. You're correct in thinking that we've not been operating as a Leonardo Hotel for long and we will soon be receiving a full renovation which will repair some of the issues that you have mentioned... Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighbourhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theatres and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
