Out for the day on our bikes, my wife and myself happened across the riccarton Inn. In need of some food and drinks, we ventured into the pub. Very welcoming staff, excellent menu and a real open fire. The food is first rate, genuine home cooking, no frozen meals here. If you are in the Currie area pop in, you'll...

Average accommodation in Lanark. About 20 minutes drive to city center of Edinburgh. I paid 84£ for 2 nights withouth breakfast. Room was clean with single bad, wardrobe, table, chair and flat screen TV. Shower in bathroom. My room was on a gound floor with window to driveway. There is free private parking and WIFI is only in public areas....

This was a spur of the moment stay, with the need for a dog friendly room as we had just been driving for 6 hours and didn't want to drive the same time back in one day. Located 10mins drive from the city centre this was perfect place to quickly pick up a toothbrush and head to the inn. Welcomed...

Valentine's Day lunch exceeded all expectations firstly it was a difficult choice to order as all options on the menu sounded so tempting and when delivered were as delicious as their description. This was fine dining in a cosy gastro pub setting. Excellent staff, attentive yet unobtrusive, good selection of real ales and a rather yummy cocktail of the month...

We came here recently for a family birthday. The staff from start to finish were polite and very attentive. This was the first weekend the rugby was on so it was really busy but they still managed to provide excellent service and look after our large table of 8. The menu has a good choice of the favourite pub classics...

We were visiting the area and tried The Riccarton Inn based on a personal recommendation. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the food was good with generous portions and was nicely presented. There were plenty of choices on the menu so, as we were staying locally, we returned the following night and the night after that too. Very enjoyable.

Great food, generous portions, friendly "local" atmosphere. Gets very full some evenings so good idea to book first. Huge car park a bonus, good for disabled visitors, all on one level. Imaginative and frequently changing menu.

My partner and I stayed here for one night. The room was wee and cosy with comfy bed and smartly decorated. Tea and coffee facilities and a wee tv. The shower was good but the steam makes the tiled floor in the little ensuite slippy. We couldn't switch off or turn down the radiator so had to sleep with the...

Stayed one night and had dinner. Staff very welcoming. Room was a bit tired (I did hear mention of a refurb), but comfortable. Food was excellent, would be 5/5. Thoroughly recommend the Ham Hock pie. Nice pint of Deuchars IPA. Breakfast good.

Nice pub with a good range of beers and spirits. Bar staff could be a bit more pleasant and chat a bit more. Felt a bit like an outsider when I was in having a few beers. Other than that, the atmosphere is pretty good and I have certainly been in a lot worse.
