A great place to stay for £130/3 nights. The decor is nice, the old spiral stairwell cute and there's blackout curtains and the instant coffee is fair trade . The bed is comfortable if not a little small. The cleaner Catherine was very knowledgeable and helpful and though the owner didn't leave out the key on our late arrival, he...

My other half and I have stayed here following a course we had in Edinburgh. The hotel was easy to find and the staff were welcoming upon arrival. We have chosen a small double room as all we needed was a good nights sleep. The room had most of the things one may need - the only thing I would...

My boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights in a short trip to Edinburgh. The location is great, with frequent buses running to the city centre or a 20/25 minute walk. The rooms are large and the hotel quiet and small. The only negative was that the room was very cold when we returned in the evening, the main...

The hotel is in a good location for a short break in Edinburgh with frequent buses running into the City Centre. Our room was clean and Kristin went the extra mile in trying to print out boarding cards for the return flight and arranging a taxi back to the airport. Many thanks for a pleasant stay.

I stayed at Allison house about 7 or 8 years ago and had a wonderful time so when we were booking a trip this time I thought of here first. I found out it had changed ownership but due to its location I thought we would take the risk. The location is good. A 20 minute walk in a straight...

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights during our trip to Edinburgh. The hotel itself is very nice and not far from the city centre, around 15-20 minutes walk. There are loads of restaurants to have a bite in case you arrive late. Our room was very nice as well, clean, spacious, and cozy. I was a bit anxious...

No introductions by owners, still don't know their name; lacking that nice little touch in welcoming guests - much experience in staying in B&B and small hotels. Checked in and first thing that hits you is stale smell of old cooking permeating the reception area - never leaves. Flowers haven't even been bothered to be unwrapped at reception sit in...

We have been left bitterly disappointed at this hotel. We booked so far in advance and were looking forward to a 4 star stay. Instead, we were met by a rather abrupt lady who didn't even welcome us and showed us to our room. The room (#12) was average for a 'superior' room. Small shower, mould in bathroom and poor...

Be very careful when you book your room - you could end up like us and have to use a bathroom in the hall!! The bathroom itself was OK - it locked from the inside but NOT from the outside so we could not leave anything in it. Did not run into anyone in the hall in the robe (which...
