Get to room not on the main road side, where the noise does not affect your stay. You booked ticket via hotel to i.g. to football matches etc etc. Bring your own plug and socket-outlet adapter with you

HOTEL’S FAVOURITE REVIEW

Great location in a laid-back neighbourhood full of pubs, cafés and restaurants (one minute from Haymarket train station, directly accessible from the airport by a tram or a bus), and within a walking distance from the Old town. Lovely and well-equipped rooms (iron, hairdryer, kettle...), friendly personnel, and if you book directly through hotel website, continental breakfast is included for...

Spent three nights here whilst on a business trip to Edinburgh. Staff were very friendly. Bed was extremely comfortable and cleanliness throughout was very good. Breakfast was also very good. Very happy to return.

Our second stay, two nights while attending a rugby match. Check in staff really welcoming, room comfortable, breakfast good variety and the best burger in a long time. Good hotel, not in the centre but close enough to walk in and enjoy what Edinburgh has to offer

Decent standard modern hotel convenient for transport and Murrayfield Stadium. The staff were friendly and efficient and the rooms clean but small. Two gripes - the charge of £240 per night was ridiculous and openly attributed to taking advantage of the European Cup rugby - or more accurately taking advantage of me. Even at that rate breakfast was not included...

The room was more than adequate for my needs. I didn't expect to be inside for hours other than sleeping. My only complaint might be that the room was too crowded with furniture, making it difficult to get around the bed.

Stayed here for a weekend break. When we arrived on Friday lunchtime the receptionist checked to see if our room was ready when we arrived and after a few minutes wait in the bar area we were able to check in. 4th floor room (top floor), modern and clean. Bed was very comfy and pillows were lovely too. No air...

The staff were incredibly helpful, friendly and well informed and nothing was too much trouble. The beds were very comfy and the room was well equipped and the location was excellent for the old town and the EICC centre. We would definitely stay here again.

The hotel was spotlessly clean throughout, the room and bathroom were modern with lots of storage and plenty of plug outlets. The free WiFi is great too and a fast speed - 25 up and 25 down, which is a nice change from most hotels. All the staff were friendly and always smiling which is great to see. Location great...

We just went there for breakfast because the ones from our hotel seemed gloomy. We tried the poached eggs with hollandaise sauce which were delicious. The English breakfast menu was nice too. Great service.

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighbourhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theatres and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
