This was a luxury apartment in the city center. Staff was incredibly welcoming, and provided a great basked of basic food when you check in - a nice surprise. A grocery is super close so we enjoyed cooking our own breakfast and dinner - saves money and nice respite from restaurants after a week of travelling. It's about a 10...

This apartment was exactly what we needed. There was four adults in a two bedroom apartment. We had a separate kitchen, living room and a large bathroom. The kitchen was equipped very well, the welcome basket was excellent with bread, butter, plenty of cereals, biscuits, tea, coffee and fresh juice. Living room was very comfortable with large television and DVD...

Wonderful facility and great service, especially by their concierge Christopher. Spacious and super quiet. Immediate vicinity is a little seedy but otherwise great location near the castle, Grassmarket, Princes Street.

Apartments are spacious and clean. Staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. We even had a welcome basket with orange juice, cereals etc on arrival. Easy to walk from Edinburgh's main areas to the apartments and I think they're reasonably priced. We booked three apartments in total and everyone enjoyed their stay.

Spent a week here on our first trip to Scotland. Made a great base to do day trips from. Room was very comfortable and clean. The kitchen was fully outfitted and allowed us to cook a few meals on nights we didn't feel like going out. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again when we return.

First of all, I was surprised at how quiet it is (considering it's a city centre apartment). It is located in a very central part of Edinburgh (Grass Market). It's easy to walk to and you can be on the Bridges / Royal Mile within 10 mins. The rooms are immaculate and they supply robes and slippers (quite a nice...

We had a fabulous time here as a family of four. We spent three nights in Apartment 3. The location and service from the concierge was second to none. Our apartment (2 bedrooms, one bathroom) was spacious, quiet, spotlessly clean and well equipped. Wifi worked perfectly. They really do exceed expectations here - with outstandingly helpful staff, generous breakfast basket,...

The Knight Residence is really the best place to stay in Edinburgh. The price is great for the value and the rooms are clean, the kitchen is stocked with the necessities for breakfast, there is a Sainsbury's very nearby to grab any food/beverages to stock the fridge, there's wifi, and if you need to do laundry, you can do that...

Rented a two bed, one bath apartment for two nights for three of us - very friendly concierge staff, well equipped kitchen (including bread, butter, milk, cereal welcome basket), comfy beds and sitting room and a good location not far from Grassmarket. Recommended

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighbourhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theatres and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
