Arrived, was seen to effectively and efficiently, relaxed, got well fed, had a drink followed by a good snooze, breakfasted well then left refreshed and very happy with everything. The room was very nice indeed, and I particularly enjoyed cityscape view over Edinburgh to the Forth.

Comfortable, great location and good value with the best breakfast we've had in the UK. Very helpful staff. A shame about the lack of 'soundproofing' in bedrooms: TV and conversation clearly heard in Room 9!

Excellent all round performance from club sraff. A warm snug environment and excellent food beautifully presenteď. The club itself is quirky but full of charm and very friendly. Slightly away from the centre of the city but walkable and quieter.

We make an annual trip to Edinburgh to catch up with friends. This is the 3rd year we have stayed at the RSC and i'my very impressed with the refurbishment. The standard of the rooms is excellent. Only complaint is there'something a coffee machine in the room but no pods to use in it. Bar service also a bit slow...

The Club is welcoming and friendly with its staff a major factor in our future plans when staying in Edinburgh. I cannot recommend it highly enough. Our room, while a little small, was very comfortable and had all that we needed. The best and most appealing factor for me, a seasoned and regular traveller, was the difference between a cold...

My wife and I booked this hotel through Expedia as we decided to have a long weekend break in Edinburgh, a city we both love and the icing on the cake was that we were also meeting our daughter for the weekend who is currently studying at St Andrews University. We booked a triple room which I must say was...

What a place! I am in a wheelchair, and before I arrived the manager emailed me with a description of problems I may face as it an old building brought up to DDA standards as best they can. From the moment we arrived, the staff were helpful and charming. A ramp for the steps at the front door was offered,...

A superb property in a Central location near Princess Street, friendly staff and great food Walking into the property you step back in time, but all the mod cons are there -wonderful room-and a proper pod coffee machine-no more instant coffee sachets!

Edinburgh is a fantastic place to stay whatever you are looking for you will find it there. The Royal Scott's is full of charm and character, very enjoyable. Our room was a double standard in the basement, I would have preferred a proper window. Bathroom was huge with sperate bath and shower.

Staying in New Town

Neighbourhood Profile
New Town
Suits and shopping bags rule the streets of New Town, until after dark when strappy dresses come out to play. This is the city’s central business district with its smaller offices, clothes boutiques, and many of the city’s flashiest restaurants and ritziest clubs. The architecture along roads like George Street helps give it a swank and formal feel: it’s a planned Georgian development of regal townhouses, geometric squares, and self-important statues. But it’s also a very wanderable neighbourhood, with a healthy bustle at almost any time of day and fine people-watching in places like St Andrew's Square which fills with picnickers around lunch. You’ll also find a series of cheerful basement bistros on Hanover Street, while dark Rose Street has something of the feel of an undiscovered back alley and is chock-full of characterful pubs and small independent shops.
