The Emmaus House was absolutely the best place we could have stayed in Edinburgh. It was incredibly reasonably priced, perfectly located (less than a mile walk to the main part of town and surrounded by excellent restaurants and cafes), and our hosts couldn't have been friendlier. We enjoyed the breakfast every morning which, in addition to being hearty and having...

This was our second stay at Emmaus House, when we decided to return to Edinburgh there was never any doubt of where to stay. The warm atmosphere and the friendly staff that we met last year made us feel like we were coming home. Our room had all we needed, comfortable beds, en-suite, peace and quiet. Breakfast is very nice,...

We stayed at Emmaus houses this June for 4 nights and just loved it. We felt we were part of the community and enjoyed the food and the location. We highly recommend it. Of particular value to us was the communal prayer and the meals where we got to really know the other guests and Scots people.

Gilmore Place is a quiet street of Georgian houses just off a busy thoroughfare where there are shops, cafes, pubs etc. At the end...

I was welcomed to Emmaus House as to a home. The room was beautiful, and very comfortable, with plenty of space to unpack and relax. Breakfast was plentiful and excellent (with good strong coffee!) and I enjoyed talking to other resident guests and staff. They were also absolutely fine about getting back late (2:00 am after a ceilidh...!) and I...

I have just stayed here for two nights and couldn't have been made more welcome. I felt very much at home and enjoyed the fact that breakfast was a communable table and the chat was interesting. My room was spacious and very light, everything was perfectly clean and I had a wonderful desk which was very useful as I had...

After a flight delay and a long bus journey, we were never expecting to be greeted with a warm cup of tea to sooth the cold that Scotland had greeted us with!! Thank you Janet! All of the management team were friendly and welcoming, and we were given a briefing of the city and best pubs and restaurants to go...
