Went here with husband for weekend break. Had breakfast each morning in hotel which was plentiful. Staff very friendly, polite and helpful. There was a couple that worked in bar, from cheq republic, they were lovely. Room is basic but clean. Bed was very comfortable. Train station right outside hotel. would definitely return again. Ideal location.

This hotel is nicely located. It's barely a 5 min walk away from the train station (Waverley) provided you leave out the correct exit (Market Street). It's not far from the royal mile nor princess street just straight over the bridge or you can cut through the train station if it's raining or snowing. In our room we had a...

I loved this hotel and can honestly say it felt like a home away from home. The staff are all so warm and friendly and although the rooms need some updating (which i think is definitely reflected in the very reasonable price), the location is second to none, the breakfast and also the food in the restaurant at night were...

The hotel is very close to the station Be sure to take the Market Street Exit - turn left and then first right. Clean well appointed with friendly staff. Definitely use this hotel again next time we go to Edinburgh.

In Edinburgh for the Royal Military Tattoo in August 2015 on a trip through England and Scotland and chose Jurys for its proximity to Edinburgh Castle, the Royal Mile, Holyrood and other sights in and near Old Town. Although not a "luxury" hotel, Jurys' accomodations are very comfortable, well maintained and a great choice for vacationers in the Edinburgh/Firth of...

We really enjoyed our stay at Jurys Inn, Edinburgh. It was easy to find from the airport and just a perfect location for seeing everything, between old and new towns. The staff were very good.We really had no complaints. I would stay here again. The extensive and very fresh buffet breakfast really surprised me and surpassed many 4 star hotels...

Excellent central location; 3 minutes walk from station, 3 minutes walk to Royal Mile, 8 minutes walk to Princes Street. Super staff especially front of house and Sylvia in the restaurant. Good size clean room although bath a bit small; shower super. Comprehensive breakfast choices. Varied bar and restaurant menu, the latter very good value, with large portions.

The hotel is in a great location, great distance from the Castle and both the old and new town. The hotel is good value and with a buffet breakfast it is certainly somewhere that you can ear well and then head out for a day exploring the city.

Staying in Old Town

Neighbourhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
