Stayed at the Travelodge Cameron Toll for 4 nights. It was a $80 taxi from the Airport.
We booked 2 rooms (1 Family and 1 standard). Although we arrived in the late morning the staff did their best to get the rooms ready, which was appreciated after a long flight.
The rooms were basic and on the small side but comfortable.
WiFi was an additional cost and not reliable.
The hotel is located at an intersection and after reading previous reviews I still underestimated how bad the sirens are. Apparently emergency services in Edinburgh have to activate their sirens every time they go through an intersection.
The area is walkable (20-30 minutes) to the main tourist areas and Waverly train station. There are several bus routes beside the hotel which were direct and easy to figure out.
The breakfast on site is free for kids and has something for everyone. The coffee was always excellent.
My main take away from this hotel is the staff. They were exceptional. Everyone from the front desk, breakfast servers and cleaning staff were all pleasant and looked after us.

This is more a 4.5 than 4. I also consider the price in the review.

Location is pretty decent, located in pretty surroundings and a bit quieter than the city.

Everything works, looks nice, bathroom could've looked nicer, but I'm not going to really complain. My room had a bath tub in case that's relevant to anyone. The people running the place are nice too, greeted me as I left and came back with a smile.

The two reasons I can't give this a full score are that the bathroom did not come with a toilet brush - for the sake of the cleaners and myself provide that.
I also expect a bit more than an unreliable 650 kB/s when they charge for internet access.

A Travelodge is never going to be a high end hotel, but the location and staff in this one does mean it's excellent value for money. Lovely clean rooms, comfy bed and dog friendly. We arrived a little bit early but Pawel at the front desk went above and beyond to allow us to check in early with our little pooch. Every member of staff we came across, including the cleaning team were very attentive and helpful. Would definitely recommend and would stay again.

Hotel quiet and with good beds to sleep, but "lacking" room service, only clean every 6 days, you have to ask for the change of towels but usually forget to do it.
It also lacks service to leave bags both on arrival and departure, which being located far from the center poses a problem if you arrive or have to leave the hotel soon.
The hotel only gives you 30 mn of free wifi a day, if you want more you have to pay for it.
If all this will be specified when hiring the room there would be no problem, but they do not specify and therefore it does pose a problem and a disorder

At first it was frustrating to locate the carpark entrance missed it twice finally found it On entry we were greated by Pawel a very polite and enthusiastic young man with excellent manners . He explained everything very well and sorted our minor door issues quickly Room is very tidy smells nice and the beds very comfortable. The is no limit to tea and coffee and the shower facilities are also clean and smells clean, if you have forgotten shower gel its provided fir you along with towels.
We decided to eat in the bar the food is a basic menu we had the steak and ale pie with mash and peas with an onion gravy. I wasn't really expecting 5star food so what I got was a surprise the pie crust was crisp and flakey the mash was really buttery and the peas were cooked correctly all in all a very pleasant meal
For the price we paid im very pleased and looking forward to breakfast
Would I come here again yes I would

Stayed here because hotels in Edinburgh city centre were greatly overpriced, cashing in on the demand because it was Edinburgh tattoo and fringe month.
This Travelodge was situated approximately 3 miles from city centre, and at a cost of £304.00 for 2 nights, because of the events and time of year, the stay was enjoyable.
Room was clean although a little small on the first floor, breakfast daily was buffet style, however because of capacity you had to wait to be seated.
The staff at the hotel were helpful, if you had any issues, WiFi can be a little weak at times, but is available in the room.
Across the road from the hotel, is a shopping mall in case you forget anything, or want those few little extras.
Transport links to city centre, were good with a bus stop situated within a 5 minute walk, and a day ticket costing £4.50, which expired at 0100 each morning.
During our stay here the refuse collectors were on strike, which made the area look unsightly due to all the litter and overflowing bins around the city, hopefully this gets resolved soon.

Stayed at the hotel as part of a large group taking part in a local football tournament. From we arrived at the hotel we were made to feel very welcome by all staff, big thanks especially to Melvin, asset to your hotel who made many fans, young and old, while we stayed. Rooms were very clean, food all fresh and warm and despite the amount of people staying from multiple groups, the turnaround was very quick in ensuring there was plenty to eat at breakfast for everyone.

From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, our stay was fantastic. There was plenty of parking, and the staff welcomed us with smiles. Check-in was a breeze.

Since it was getting late and we were hungry, we decided to have dinner at the hotel. The 3-for-£11 light bites were delicious, with plenty of vegetarian options, and the restaurant had a lovely setting. Breakfast was nice too, although the area was a bit small, so it felt crowded when many guests came at the same time. Also, there was only one coffee machine, which caused a bit of a wait.

The location was great—less than two miles into town, and it was a lovely walk. On our last day, after already walking into town and back earlier, we wanted to take a bus because we were too tired to walk. We asked for directions, and a staff member named Adrian (I think) went above and beyond by taking us to the road and showing us exactly where to catch the bus, which numbers to take, and which ones to avoid.

We also got locked out of our room when the key didn’t work, but the staff were wonderful. They reset the digital door lock and gave us complimentary drinks while we waited, which turned out to be no inconvenience at all.

We often stay at Travel Lodges as they are easy to book and offer good value. The facilities are basic but adequate and the beds and showers are good, and clean which is most important. We chose Cameron Toll as a good location to access the city, with free parking on site. The staff were welcoming, friendly and efficient. We were in Edinburgh on a shopping trip and we will stay at Cameron Toll again, no doubt about it.

Had an absolutely delightful experience! The location is fantastic, offering easy access to attractions and the hotel itself is well-maintained. The rooms were spacious & comfortable.

However, what truly stood out during my stay was the exceptional service provided by the staff. One person in particular, Michella, made a lasting impression. She was incredibly supportive throughout our stay, always ready with a friendly smile and helpful advice. Michella went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable experience, offering valuable tips on local restaurants, must-visit sites, and even hidden gems that only a local would know. Her genuine care and dedication to customer service were truly remarkable, making me feel at home and well cared for.

Michella is a shining example of what excellent hospitality should be. Her passion for her job and her attentiveness to guests’ needs set her apart and really elevated my experience at the hotel. It's staff like her that make this place special and worth returning to.

Looking forward to our next visit!
