Stayed here last year just after Christmas and was very surprised at how affordable it was especially for being in the city centre! Also you can bring your dog with you if they can't be left at home!😁

A nice find this time for a hotel/room in Edinburgh. The check-in was simple and efficient, and the decor was modern and pleasant. Stairs were easy to access (especially as most places in Edinburgh tend to have small and ancient steps) and there was the lift too. The rooms are bright and big, compared to usual Edinburgh standards. Would easily...

Booked for my wife and I and stayed here whilst over visiting. Firstly couldn't ask for a better location! Bus service from the airport every 10 minutes which drops you right off outside the hotel. Rooms basic, but clean. Couldn't ask for more as I thought they were priced accordingly. We arrived way before check in time which was no...

Had a lovely stay at Cityroomz Edinburgh! The rooms were clean, staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a perfect location that makes walking around the city easy. It's not too far from anywhere in the city you might want to visit, so makes an idea base. There's a Sainsbury's Local opposite the hotel too, which is...

Just back from Edinburgh and stayed here for our trip. Firstly a special mention to Shelagh who was on reception throughout our stay and was an absolute gem, between being able to check us in early, to being helpful with directions, she's a great ambassador for Cityroomz. Three of us booked a family room which suited perfect space wise, we...

Booked for my partners birthday & stayed here when visiting. The hotel is good location however I found the rooms to be abit scruffy and very bog standard. We have stayed at the sleeperz in Newcastle before & that was much more modern than here (of which are the same company). I would probably stay else where next time as...

This hotel is about 40 minutes ride by bus service Airlink 100 from Edinburgh airport bus-stop D. The Airlink 100 brings you right in front (across the street) of the hotel. Cost £4.50 for a single trip bus ticket and £7.50 for a return trip ticket to the airport from a bus stop just outside the hotel entrance. To enter...

The lobby of the hotel seem old but hotel room look new. The room have very good soundproof, the location of the hotel near to many tourist place, you can walk by feet. And it is near to Main Street, walk about 15-20mins to waverley station. There some restaurants and grocery shops near by.

I stayed for 3 nights and the location was perfect for a short stay in Edinburgh, so close to everything. Two supermarkets next to it. The room was good. It was not perfectly clean since I found trash on the floor next to the sofa. Big and comfy room. Fresh bathroom. I would definitely stay here again. Good value for...

Nice hotel with friendly, helpful staff. The location is brilliant also, just off Princes Street. Slightly run down in some aspects but the rooms are decent for the money you pay. Very clean and overall we had a lovely stay and would come back at some point in the future.

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighbourhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theatres and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
