We stayed 3 nights with Kozo in the twin room. Indeed the house gives a different feel from most B&Bs because of all the paintings and artefacts in every part of the house. The breakfast was good. Kozo was very attentive while John was very chatty and opening to sharing his views. You will marvel at the passion and drive...

I feel guilty for taking so long to write this review. And if it was not for the other reviews on trip advisor I would never have found them. Art-House Morita is a home away from home. Travelling solo was made easy with the friendly and helpful advice from both Kozo and John via emails and personal contact. The home...

I stayed at Art-House Morita for two nights in November 2011. I took buses from the Edinburgh airport. It is fairly easy to get to the Art-House Morita by bus. It was, however, a bit complicated to find a bus stop on the North Bridge to the Art-House Morita. The hosts, Kozo and John are very nice people. I had...

A truly unique experience. Art House Morita, as other reviewers have noted, is more than a simple bed and breakfast; it also an arts trust headquarters and it houses a fabulous collection of Scottish and Japanese works. The place has a wonderful, homey feel and the advantage of staying as a guest is that you peruse the collection at your...

I have just returned from a visit to Edinburgh and my stay at Morita Art House....and a most wonderful stay it was!!! The house which is situated just a very short easy bus ride from the city center is in a lovely quiet neighborhood of fine Georgian homes. Upon entering the house my eyes were drawn to the beauty surrounding...

Henry Higgins (the guy in My Fair Lady) would have loved this place. I know we did. Beautiful art + personalized service + fine evening dining. Great breakfast too, including a vegetarian option. Some rooms share large bathrooms. Other than that, it's 5 star living at a 2 star price. Great location - a few minutes to city center by...

My husband and I stayed here for one night during our trip to Edinburgh and the Fringe. It was more than sleeping in a museum, it was sleeping in between someone's passion and life's work, it was meeting eye to eye with sensitive and intelligent people and prized artworks that have long risen above the status of mere objects. I...

Thank you. The warmth of your feedback as a Scotsman is a little difficult to respond to. I hope that we were able to make your night in Edinburgh Fringe Festival period one of being a good memory, in a time where everyone is looking for activity and noise we sometimes forget that quiet is equal in its importance. Yours...

“Because its only 3 rooms you can pay by cash or PayPal. My top tip is that if you do want to book, contact them directly to get the best price (as then they don't pay the agents commission).”
