I stayed in these apartments this weekend as I was attending my cousins wedding, there were four of us staying there in total. After our flight was delayed we were very tired and arrived very late to the apartment, only to be greeted to the sound of a nightclub that is situated directly across the road from our room, the music...

Upon arrival when walking into the apartment I was initially impressed. The living room was a good size and although the bedrooms were small, they were adequate for the weekend. Then I started to notice the dirt and grime. I picked up the placemats on the dining table to be confronted with a lot of mold on the table and...

We booked a 3 bed apartment as it was close to the venue of a wedding we were attending. On arrival everything seemed fine however the longer we were there the worse the stay became. We had a ground floor apartment which meant that every guest in the apartment block had to pass by our front door when arriving or...

This is the first Place I booked my parents when they came over from Italy. It was recommended to us by Edlets as being in the centre of Edinburgh, which it was. http://www.edlets.com/accommodation/self_catering/blair_house They really loved it as it was close to the Castle, you could come and go as you please and everything was on your doorstep. The only...

booked four of these apartments online for a couples only holiday (there was in total 26 of us) after a long search for accomodation near the city centre. I then got advised by a friend to check this website (i had already booked it at this point). Read all the reviews and thought "oh s++t, why could no one have...

Small capacity lift which was slow for a group arrival. Pub/club opposite which was extremely noisy through until 3/4am each of the 2 night stay especially for those street-side. Our group had 2 apartments; one had double glazing but the one I was in did not; simply old and ill fitting sash windows which meant that the noise at night...

I'd never recommend stopping in these apartments. Looked at the reviews only after the acommodation had already been booked....big mistake. The rooms were dirty, broken furniture, stained bed covers, stained sofas, etc. You do hear at lot of noise from the night club across the street and also with the front door any other apartment doors slamming at all hours....

We stayed in a two bedroom apartment which was at street level. Not only was it very unclean including mould on the bathroom walls, it constantly smelt damp and even after we left our clothes still smelt like the apartment. The bed in the main bedroom was very small and very uncomfortable. There is no soundproofing and as this apartment...

+ Extremely central + A nice roomy apartment with a living room + Fairly cheap + Entry by codes instead of a key, which was very convenient - The apartment was VERY unclean. It was dusty, the floors felt sticky, there were blood stains on the floor, and there was a plaster stuck to a wall... There was also a...

Booked into these apartments as part of a hen weekend, 5 of us sharing but not really wanting to share beds. The apartments weren't our choice and never would be! The twin room was fine, the only one that was. The double bed was small (you'd need to really like the person to share, another twin room would have been...

Staying in Old Town

Neighbourhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
