Here for 3 nights during the Fringe. The apartment was wonderful, really well equipped, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable. We were also lucky enough to have the most wonderful view out the back across to the Castle. It's in a great location for being in the middle of things. I would definitely stay here again

Would highly recommend these apartments. Amazing location and very clean and smart. Great price too - far better than even the cheapest hotel. There were so many cafes and restaurants within 100 yards of the front door. The only negative was the noise in the front bedroom from the bar next door - only a problem on one night out...

I can't believe no one has mentioned how noisy this place is. I'm not talking about ordinary street noisy in a very part of towm. This is the blaring music that comes through the walls from a church, now converted into a music venue called Frankensteins ( it doesn't look like it would share walls from the street but on...

Great place to spend time in Edinburgh. Spacious apartment with all the amenities of home. Clean and nicely furnished. We had a lovely view of Edinburgh Castle. The location could not be better. Note that there is no lift making luggage totting strenuous. There was 51 steps to climb to get to our apartment and there were two more apartments above us....

We stayed at Destiny Scotland off of St. Andrews and found it to be a mixed bag. First the location makes it worth all the inconveniences. It is easy 3 min walk to buses and the train. There are restaurants all around and a grocery just a block over. The national archive is just around the corner. The negatives for...

These apartments are great, good location, very comfortable and very easy to access! you set up your own code before you get there so you do not have to meet anybody for keys, very useful! then the apartments are very large spacious, comfortable beds and great kitchen facilities! Highly recommend!

Beautiful apartments very conveniently located the only negative is the beds. The beds are small doubles that appear lost in the large spacious rooms. On top of this the mattresses are cheap and springy which meant sleep was broken and uncomfortable a real shame! If the beds were changed then this place would be perfect!

We came to Edinburgh one day early, Sept 2015, and needed a place for one night. We had hauled our luggage up Cockburn street, from Waverly Station, to see we could find a room at Radisson Blu (very nice) but none were available. Most vacancies were back down Cockburn street! My kids were game, but laziness prevailed, and I suggested...

My second stay with Destiny Scotland serviced apartments, which again did not disappoint. Easy self-check in, comfortable and stylish apartment with all mod cons, super clean, central location and good value for money. Will stay here any time I'm back in Edinburgh, whether for business or pleasure.

Staying in Old Town

Neighbourhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
