My husband and I stayed at the Mayfield Lodge for one night on September 11th. We arrived a little earlier than the usual check in for a Bed and Breakfast but Klaus was very welcoming and gave us the keys to our room early so we could explore the city for the afternoon and evening. He gave some wonderful recommendations...

Our stay at Mayfield Lodge was excellent. The guesthouse is in a beautiful area and is walking distance to town (or a £8 taxi ride for the lazy). The room was clean and in excellent condition - it also had the best shower in all of Scotland. Breakfast was great too. The owner Klaus was very warm and welcoming (with...

Yet again I stayed at Mayfield Lodge during my trip to Edinburgh. I always feel so welcome here, even though the manager Kenny has left. Greeted warmly by The owners Halla and Claus. My stay was as usual relaxing and most enjoyable. Breakfast was superb and had some lovely chats with some German visitors who where there the third time....

Overpriced B&B. +friendly + good location (on bus route, easy to walk into the city if you wish) -hard bed -leaking roof over spare bed in room (thankfully it was the spare bed and not ours!) -tiny shower -shabby decor Can't comment on breakfast as we never had it.

Stayed here for two nights. The bathroom was small and could hardly fit in the shower. The stairs are not the best either. On the second night out room started to have a water leak. Although the owners were very sympathetic and discounted our bill. The B and B was okay, but could be better value for money.

Very nice guest house. Cure rooms, very clean. Nice breakfast and very helpful guy who was running the whole place on his own. Good location for Arthur's Seat. About half an hours walk into the center of town.

We stayed at this b&b over the new year for the Hogmanay. The guesthouse is a 35 minute walk away from the centre and easily accessible. Kennie is a very welcoming and pleasant chap who was more than happy to help with all our needs including adding an extra guest at the very last minute. The guesthouse is very homely,...

Already the 'no Problem' when calling to ask for a room during the Fringe made me happy. Again me and my daughter had a very pleasant and funny stay with Kenny. Rich breakfast, nice rooms... Just all you need from a B&B when visiting Edinburgh! Wer will return at no doubt.

At first i have to say that the owner Kenny is a really nice person. Very friendly and funny. But the room was not good enough. We made a journey through scottland and this B&B was by far the baddest. Because, so many hairs in the whole bathroom (not hidden, just everywhere), the blanket had ugly stains, the remotecontrole wasn´t...

I was very disappointed that we failed ours and your cleanliness standards. Today I checked every room and could find no fault. However, we will re-double our efforts to make sure no hairs are present and prove that this was just a one off. As for the blanket, the duvet cover is changed regularly, but if a stain is noticed...
