The River Tay is right in front of the hotel, and a great stay is stretching out ahead of you too, at Premier Inn Dundee Centre. We're just five minutes walk from all the shops, and close to the lively concerts at Slessor Gardens on the waterfront too. Scott's Discovery Ship is waiting for you in the harbour, and there are plenty of other discoveries to be made. What about a round of golf at legendary St Andrews? Or a fascinating trip to the Sensation Science Centre? If you're looking to explore the lowlands while you're here, there's also great transport links get you there in no time. Then come back for some delicious food in our Beefeater restaurant and a great night's sleep in our extra-comfy beds.

The Premier Inn Dundee Centre hotel is praised for its central location near the city's attractions and train station, making it a favorite for visitors. While the clean, welcoming atmosphere charms families, some guests have encountered disturbances at night. Opinions on the rooms vary, with comfortable beds and views being highlights, despite some reports of cleanliness and maintenance issues. The service receives mixed reviews, with some guests experiencing slow responses. The value proposition is also a point of debate, as reasonable parking and meal deals are appreciated, but concerns over room quality and extra charges persist.

This Premier Inn is in a great location positioned beside the river Tay and between the rail and road bridges. Staff were all great - very helpful and friendly. Service in Beefeater was efficient and very safe in current climate. You order everything at your table and staff deliver everything to your table including all clean cups and plates etc. No scramble and people touching loads of things. Even bread for toast in wrapped in cling film. Good system and worked well. Hotel room was spotless and unless you ask for room to be cleaned again during your visit, no one else enters your room during your stay. We simply aired the bed each day and wiped the surfaces - job done. Really enjoyed Dundee and visited St Andrews and Anstruther too. Plenty of places for coffee and meals sitting safely outside and The Discovery is a must to see. Would recommend this hotel for a short City break.

Convenient for City centre shops and Discovery Quay.
Usual standard of rooms. Would have preferred a walk in shower rather than bath with shower over as it was not easy to access and potentially slippery. Room was too hot overnight because we had difficulty setting the air-con to less 25 deg C. Eventually [ next morning] found how to get it down to 19 deg C. [ windows don't open] Had a great view out over the Tay Estuary to both bridges.
Breakfast was served at the table and was fine given the Covid restrictions posing difficulty. Car-parking at £3 per 24 hrs was OK. Unfortunately we stayed on a Tuesday night as we hadn't appreciated that the V & A only opens from Thursday through to Monday inclusive. Good value and reduction to 5% v.a.t on room was applied not like some other opportunist companies. Staff very helpful.

My wife and I stayed 2 nights, arriving by rental car at 3PM. The nice receptionist checked a passport and provided the key card and parking instructions(3 GBP/night), before we took one of the elevators to the 3rd floor.
Prepaid room #331 was carpeted and nice sized, opening to an outfitted bathroom with quick hot water and a tub shower, then a small closet, desk unit with hot pot with large TV(BBC Scotland & 50+ channels and proper guide), very comfortable queen, and couch. A fixed window looking over the parking to the nearby museum led to a quiet night’s sleep. The open room WIFI was strong, 5 room outlets, good lighting and silent wall controlled AC/heat. Breakfast buffet available at the attached restaurant.
The River Tay location across from the train station is ideal with Tesco Extra 2 blocks west and the RRS Discovery/V & A Dundee 1 block east. This is a clean and modern 162 room hotel offering good value to visit Dundee.

We stopped here for a one night stay in August, so not too long after the hotels reopened. Weren't sure what to expect, but it felt safe enough and we were welcomed in a friendly manner.

Rooms only have the basics of soft furnishings and towels etc. Two bath towels, one hand towel, two pillows. We asked for an extra two pillows and they were brought up after a short while. Limited staff, so not instant.

The hotel appeared clean and with good measures in place. As a precaution, we took a dettol spray and cleaned touch points, surfaces, taps, handles etc on arrival. We had drinks at the Beefeater downstairs in the evening, and their covid measures seemed good. The tables were perhaps slightly closer than I would have liked, with a small group coming in and sitting quite near us.

The bed was comfortable and we had a decent sleep. We haven't stayed in Premier Inns in years, and also chose Premier Inn in Inverness after we were in Dundee and we were happy with the standards at both.

A good short break away.

We decided for a second year to have our family holiday in Dundee, this year our daughter whose 6 asked if we could stay in this hotel as its beside the water.
To her delight we were allocated a family room overlooking the Rive Tay. Check in was a bit slow bit I seen before travelling the hotel was sold out so knew to expect delays at check in. We only had to wait about 15 minutes and I’ve waited an hour in some so to us this was an acceptable wait.
The staff member who checked us in was a kind and very informative male explaining where we were and also about booking for breakfast or meals in attached restaurant. Luckily we had been sent an email the week before saying to book breakfast ahead of arrival which I’m glad we done as was not much availability left listening to otgers checking in.
The room was spacious enough and best of all we had a bath again much to delight of my daughter who is terrified of showers not sure if baths in all rooms though.
Free wifi and my son was in his element for his hour before bed so a plus from us for that. They also have vending machines for juice/water and treats though card operated only.
Would definitely recommend this hotel its near city centre and close to lots of tourist attractions/train stayion and major bus routes, we hope to be back soon.

Scotland is following stricter COVID rules at time of my visit in March 2022 then other parts of UK, on arrival found check in simple via reception desk ( self check in via machines in reception still suspended ) , had to book my breakfast slot as social distancing rules in force still.

Directed quickly to my room and advised rooms would not be serviced during my stay but could request fresh towels or more tea and coffee from reception.

Quality of the room was ok but over looked the car park and at low level which was not ideal re privacy but noise was not an issue.

Noticed the room had some stained ceilings and room TV had number of missing Freeview channels.

Breakfast was at the attached Beefeater, standard Premiere Inn hot and cold selections, I personally like my food really hot so hot buffet food is never really hot enough for me, found breakfast reasonable hot which was a plus point.

Over all fairly good stay.

Fantastic views looking over the river, railway bridge and road bridge. Very local to the Tesco and a beautiful walkway along the river just straight out the back of the hotel. Stayed here for 2 nights in room 201. It would have been 5* had there not been loud banging of doors and hand dryers heard in our room (assume from the restaurant below) which can start from 7am in morning to 10pm at night. As we were only here for 2 nights, we didn't move and the views made up for it. Young boy on reception was very thorougher in explaining protocols with a friendly attitude upon check-in. The room was of a good standard with newer rooms which were clean. Reception clearly set up with signage to react to Covid-19 with 2 hand sanitizers upon entry with a one way system in place. We never used the restaurant during our short stay.

Level access approach to hotel, automatic doors. Hotel located opposite Dundee train station, no direct walk, cross pelican crossing then towards hotel. Will take a good 10 mins on foot if lack of mobility, level access approach. Ground floor accessible rooms available, wet rooms available but require use of disabled lift, currently not working. I can't climb steps so my room needed changing to non accessible to get Ground floor near reception.

Premier Inn are amazing quality rooms, all rooms have tea and coffee facilies, kettle in room, no food or biscuits. Bathroom is low level bath or wet room. 2 extra pillows in every room if needed.

Tv is freeview, adequate, wifi is free but not for streaming. You can pay for ultimate wifi if you want to stream for a few pound.

Hairdryer in room near a large mirror. 6 coat hangers if you want to hang some things up. Settee in the room under the window. Plenty of room for a wheelchair and moving around the room

Staff are amazing and friendly, made us feel so welcome and went out of their way to help. Can't fault any of the staff at all

Parking is opposite the hotel entrance and chargeable.

Beefeater restaurant next to the hotel, used for breakfast and dinner, free wifi in there too

Highly recommended

A groups of about 15 of us booked the hotel for a five night visit. The rooms were all available when we arrived and the checking in process was efficiently handled despite the Covid restraints. The rooms were to the usual Premier Inn standard and many had good views over the River Tay.
Breakfast was available in the adjacent Beefeater and had to be booked for a specific time. Breakfast service was first class - no buffet available due to Covid.
The hotel is very well placed for the city centre and such attractions as the Discovery Centre and the V&A Museum. Can certainly recommend this hotel

Stayed here with my husband and daughter during the school Easter holidays for two nights. Check in was so easy via the check-in machines and the whole hotel and our room were spotless. We had one of the newer style rooms and it had everything we needed. There are a couple of vending machines in the lobby together with a table offering very reasonably priced drinks and snacks with an honesty box for payment.

We ate breakfast in the adjoining Beefeater both mornings and had no complaints. It was busy but staff were constantly refilling or replacing items. For £10 each (children eat free) it was extremely well priced and it was lovely looking out at the riverside and watching the dog walkers, runners enjoying the sunshine.

The location is fantastic for exploring Dundee, right next to Discovery point and the V&A and across the road from the station.
