Another overnight stay here on the way up to Glensheil. A huge room complete with sofa, comfortable bed, excellent food, pleasant and helpful staff, great atmosphere, barrel full of biscuits-what more could we ask for.We would definitely recommend this lovely, traditional Scottish hotel and hope to be staying here again next year.

Needed to break up the journey to the highlands and having stayed back in July first thought was to try this place again. So glad we did. This time we stayed in Room 1 which is a large room which includes double bed, wardrobe two seater settee and flat screen tv and plenty of space. There is also a kitchenette...

Today on my way home from visiting my Aunt, uncle and cousins in Edinburgh we visited the Balmoral Hotel for our evening meal which I really enjoyed which consisted of really delicious gammon and eggs served with delicious chunky chips washed down with diet coke which I really enjoyed and which I would recommend. Other reasons for liking this establishment...

We were lucky last week! They put us in the Cottage No 1 in the Courtyard at the back. Warm, great Lounge and kitchen facility and a comfy bedroom and Ensuite. Is it really 3 years since we last stayed here? Dining in the Bar area meant we had lively company and our Fish and Chips were absolutely great too....

The staff were very friendly and efficient and the meals were good and the hotel was very clean. Our real focus was on the spacious rooms, which...

We have stopped many times at this fine, very well appointed hotel, on our journey to and from Highlands. Moffat is a short distance from M74, with a famous sheep racing event. Not only is the hotel excellent value, but the food served in the restaurant is excellent home style cooking. I would recommend the Chilli con carne.
