From the welcome at reception to the bar and dining staff, we couldn't have felt more welcome. We had brought along our wee dog Muttley and he loved all the attention! Your dog can stay with you at dinner if you eat in the bar which we did and thoroughly enjoyed our meal which was really tasty and cooked to...

We researched Moffat to find a good place to break our journey north for lunch and the Buccleugh Arms Hotel seemed to fit the bill. We emailed ahead to reserve a table although it was quiet when we were there so we didn't need to. We both had starters and mains and each dish was excellent. The beer options looked...

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for three days having stayed there a few years ago on an overnighter. It was better then I remembered with the frontal and downstairs having been refurbished since. Some very clever ideas in keeping with the style and age of the Hotel. Staff were excellent and nothing was too much. They seemed...

Popped in here this week for a quick lunch. Have dined here before and once again the food lived up to my expectations. The service was very prompt and the steak pie exceptional. Beautifully presented and no saggy bottom as they would say on "Bake Off" Will always make a point of eating here next time I am in the...

We stayed in hotel for a Saturday evening, room was small, however presented okay. We booked a twin room beds were close together with very little room to move, we were above bar which wasn't noisy, however traffic from the road was. Bathroom was basic could do with a makeover. It's an older style property, we booked into Bistro before...

Dear Brady R, We are so sorry that you did not enjoy your experience at the Buccleuch. We do try so hard to make every experience a happy occasion and will never stop in this endeavour. You are corect that our menu is the same, but we allow people to sit wherever they feel more at ease. The menu itself...

My wife had her school 50th reunion party in Moffat, held in the Buccleugh Hotel, and she booked the room there too. Firstly the negatives, and I'm being really fussy with these, the bath is on the small size (but I'm not small either, so it's purely a personal issue) and the shower head is a little low for taller...

We stayed here for 3 nights on a trip arranged by a pal at our local advanced riders club. The facilities for the bikes are great - we each had an individual secure bike garage, the hard standing was flat and even and there are security cameras too. The cleaning area had a power wash and several buckets and sponges...

Dear IanCwinginit, I am so sorry you did not enjoy your stay at our hotel. We honestly do try hard in every area to make our guests happy and welcome. Fortunately we do manage to succeed most of the time but have clearly failed you and for this I am sorry. The hotel frontal has been refurbished this year and...

Travellers from Sutton Coldfield, GB on 6th & 7th Oct 2016. An altogether excellent stay for the family - where we found (on recommendation) the general facilities to be of "average standard" (not the very latest in presentation - so "average presentation but clean" as all competition nowadays is usually up to the mark.) BUT in every other respect -...

As a party of four had a late meal at the Buccleugh Arms. Absolutely first class food. Kayleigh was very attentive and friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend and would visit again if in Moffat. We were staying at the Queensberry House B&B and also received 10% discount.

Stopped for one night when solo touring after reading some great reviews and not disappointed. Family run with brilliant service especially - but not only - for bikers. Would be a good base for some day trips or a welcome break off the motorway.
