We stayed for one night as we were going to a wedding at another hotel good sized rooms (we had a double and a twin booked). Very comfortable beds could have actually slept on in the morning which is unusual for me, staff friendly, breakfast good, really have no faults at all just wish we had the time to look...

We won't be back, thoroughly underwhelming! Initial thoughts were that although small, the place was clean, but very dirty shower head (pic included) changed that. Before bed I removed the crisp-packet like mattress protector, it wasn't clean and in such poor condition would have protected nothing. Breakfast was ok if all you want is a bacon & eggs type breakfast....

We stayed overnight and the room was comfortable and clean. The shower was great. Staff were friendly, location 5 star. The breakfast was fabulous, full fry up with toast, braw. The meal menu had lots to choose, typical pub grub but good. The home made venison pie was excellent. Very popular with locals for a drink and they were every...

Decided to stop over night here on our way further north. Booked a family room which was large enough for 4 easily. Staff very accommodating and friendly, in fact could not do enough for us. The evening meal was exactly what we wanted, true home cooked food. The home made pies are worth a visit just for them. Great breakfast...

We stayed at The Star with our daughter and her husband on the last weekend of November from Friday to Sunday as a pre-Christmas treat. We were made more than welcome by Kenny the manager and the owners Alyson and Tim along with the rest of the friendly staff in this family run establishment. The rooms are comfy and warm...

It's a small hotel, fairly old fashioned but none the worse for it. Comfy beds and a decent breakfast. Well situated in the centre of town. The bar food is decent, the bar is well stocked with whisky. Worth staying in as you can get s bargain on booking sites.

A lovely stay in this comfy friendly hotel. It's slightly quirky due to its size. (Thinnest hotel in the world) but what it lacks in width it makes up for in length The breakfasts were huge and evening meals simple but very tasty and home made. The staff and owners are very friendly and obliging. I've stayed in Moffat several...
