Went here for dinner without booking but we were still able to be seated. Staff were pleasant and efficient, service very good. However the place is looking a bit tired these days. The restaurant carpet needs a good clean / replace and function chairs stacked int the corner weren't ideal. Plus plastic flowers, in a glass of water? If you're... More

We stayed for 3 nights in the middle of August with our 3 young children, and had a wonderful stay. The food was excellent, the staff went out of their way to accommodate us.. The kids loved it!! A few examples of above and beyond.. Every morning waiting for us in the breakfast room was a high chair all set... More

Went here for dinner without booking but we were still able to be seated. Staff were pleasant and efficient. We both started with haggis, neeps and tatties with a cream sauce. Sorry to say, it was a bit bland and the sauce was a little watery. I had pork belly as a main course which was good and my wife... More

Comfortable single room, friendly staff. I missed breakfast due to an early start but staff were happy to prepare a packed lunch. Clean room though a little dated. Lovely location and ample parking on the street outside. Cannot comment on dinner as I didn't eat there.

We had our wedding reception here and I cannot fault the staff or hotel. It is indeed going through renovations but we were well aware of this when we booked back in January and it was not a concern. All staff were very helpful & friendly during the meal and reception afterwards. The reception room was bright, beautifully laid out... More

Good location and good breakfast. We stayed in a twin room that was a good size, unfortunately the compliments stop there, the hotel as a whole but mainly the room was very dated, as such there were parts of the room and indeed the bathroom that looked grubby. The room was cleaned well but certain things need changing such as... More

First time staying here and definitely would return. Our room was a good size, warm and comfortable with clean beds, but could definitely do with refurbishing and new mattresses. More than made up for by the food. Our dinner was excellent, particularly the scallops and black pudding - highly recommended! Breakfast was also a very high standard. The staff were... More

In short, TV broken, not heating, no hot water, UHT milk 7 months out of date, wallpaper hanging off, whole place smelled awful (damp), numerous large stains on an un-hoovered carpet. Dried out fry up in the morning (obviously left drying up under the grill)All in all, the worst hotel I've stayed in. Only saving grace was the food on... More

We had a one night stay. The room was dreadful- damp, wallpaper peeling, no heating in ancient bathroom, filthy windows - all for £ 80. When we complained we were told " Oh they put you in the worst room in the Hotel" says it all. We have a Lodge nearby and love the Area and spent many happy times... More
