Old fashioned coaching inn with friendly and hospitable staff. I really enjoyed my stay here. The quality of the room was commensurate with the price I paid ( would have prefered a bigger telly though :) ) Central in the town and had a good variety of chouces in the restaurant.

Hate being negative towards hotels but the Murray Arms has seen better days, room smelled musty and not the cleanest. Wallpaper was peeling off the bedroom wall in one place. Bathroom carpet was stinking too. Food was nothing special and breakfast poor. Really struggle to find any positives. Certainly in need of some work.

We stayed recently and loved every minute of it. From the moment we arrived we were very well looked after, nothing was too much trouble. The food was superb, great selection, top marks to the chef. We felt as if it was a home from home - very clean - the manager was very attentive and a great asset to...

I arrived late in the day and the staff were very accommodating of my needs which was very much appreciated at 9.30pm when I was very tired. My room was very spacious for a single and the bed was very comfortable. Happy to return.

Got there for opening time and secured a table for 7. I had steak pie with vegetables and gravy. Excellent quality beef slow cooked to perfection with lovely fresh vege. I am a very picky eater and never trust someone else's steak but my own. But it was gorgeous and the gravy fantastic. Another had scampi which looked very nice...

We had a comfortable 3 nights here, plus an evening meal. We spent a couple of days catching up with people who were camping at nearby Mossyard, exploring the beautiful beaches nearby. The hotel is not (currently) a destination in itself: if chic contemporary styling and fittings are crucial to your comfort, this is not the place for you. But...

To begin with we were shown our room. The person then made a swift getaway before what we saw sank in. I've never seen such a dated hotel room. On further inspection we spotted black mould on the rotting window sills, two major cracks in the bathroom sink and there was an air of damp! We were glad to escape...

The staff are the best thing about this hotel. We stayed last week for three nights for a family wedding. Not our first choice, ship inn, the sister hotel was full. Management are refurbishing the bedrooms and we were fortunate enough to be the first guests to stay in room 12. Lovely, couldn't fault it. However, the other rooms are outdated...
