We stayed at the Ferintosh Guest house for 2 nights during our 3 weeks trip to Scotland earlier this month. Very nice house located near the city center. No direct parking as mentioned before but no problems at all to park in the nearby streets with the parking permit given when we arrived. Robertson and Emma are very friendly (Emma...

I was only in town for 2 nights but Robertson and Emma (and Taffy and Riley) made sure I had a good time. From the complimentary wee drams to the kilt busting Scottish breakfast to advice on the best places to go sightseeing, they were wonderful hosts. My first night they took me to their favorite pub for dinner and...

Stayed for 2 nights with my young son. Had to share a shower / w c with another room which we knew about in advance so can't complain. Major issue with lack of parking and I do feel website should be more upfront about this. Had to use residents' badge to park nearby but not comfortable with this. I later...

Review of Guest 1 of 5 stars There are 101 spaces to park your car within a 60 second walk from our front door. We did packed lunches, 6:00am breakfast, and many other special things for this man and his son. His son wet the bed and he did not tell us- our cleaner had to discover it for herself....

Robertson and Emma are excellent hosts! They made us feel relaxed and attended to. Their knowledge of the local history and geography is very good, and they can give you an excellent tour of the area. You really MUST try the haggis for breakfast, it's made by a famed local chef. The rooms were excellent, with some of the most...

This was my first visit to Scotland, and the Ferintosh is, to paraphrase the Bard, a shining jewel of hospitality set in a sea of the most friendly and generous people I've met in any of my travels. My first pleasant surprise was the "wee dram" of single malt whiskey and two glasses set out for us in our room,...

Terrific B&B and a great town to visit! We were there on our honeymoon a couple of weeks ago, between visits to London and Paris. Of all the things we have to remember about the sights and places we visited in all three countries, our visit to Dumfries, and our stay at Ferintosh, remain some of our absolute favorite memories....

When booking Ferintosh, I had some concerns because of the location across from the train station and the fact that parking was not provided. This turned out to be a non issues. Even though our room faced the station, we had a wonderful night's sleep. If there was train noise, we didn't hear it. Parking was around the corner on...

Emma and Robertson have the art of hospitality down. They were warm and helpful - but not intrusive at all. I felt safe (which is important as we are a lesbian couple) and welcome. The food was amazing and they were gracious about any request that we had (even heating up leftovers for us at 9 PM for a late...

Excellent standard and brilliant service for a guest house in Dumfries. We stayed here during our Land's End JOG cycle ride, and the welcome was warm and friendly, especially the complimentary whisky. Easy to find, with secure bike storage, the food was fantastic, and our hosts also made us feel very welcome. They also recommeded a great pub to eat...
