The house is a beautiful period building, and our room was spacious and comfortable. The garden is very well maintained, too. As inviting as the home is, the owners are even better. They are very friendly and told us all kinds of fascinating stories about the history of Dumfries. Their adorable terrier is very friendly, too!

The building is a treat on the eyes with so many pictures, nick-nacks and visual spice on the walls and shelves to ensure that you see something new every time you look somewhere. A lot of it - like the curling stones in the dining room - has a story behind it as well as just a presence. The rooms...

Another fabulous experience here thanks to the unique, friendly welcome from hosts Billy and Wilma. Have stayed her many a time. The sense of being specially treated has not changed. Unfortunately, Billy and Wilma are closing their B&B at the end of August. If you've never stayed here on a visit to Dumfries, I recommend you do it now before...

Finally got round to reviewing our lovely stay at beautiful Hazeldean House. Came on family holiday with our 2 year old and Billy and Wilma were delightful hosts. Our family room was cosy with a large ensuite bathroom which was ideal for our little one. We also loved the fridge in the room which was so handy to have. The...

I stayed at Hazeldean for roughly 10 weeks on and off for work and have to say Bill is an excellent host. All the rooms are of the same high standard, and the little extras like well stocked tea tray, toiletries and the free wifi are an added bonus. Would highly this B&B to anyone looking for accommodation in Dumfries.

Billy was an excellent host and the historical Hotel the best. He was very knowledgeable, of the beautiful history of JM Barry who hailed from Dumfries. Wendy also thoroughly enjoyed her Scottish stay in wonderous Galloway and l my fantastical Cycling experiences again in the mysterious Lowlands. I give Hazledean 10 outta 10 all around ! Excellent. Could not fault it. The owner Bill and his lovely wife were absolutely lovely. Nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were very clean and included everything you could possibly need. Very reasonably priced too. Highly recommend. I will not use any other hotel from now on when I visit Dumfries other than this one. Thank you for your...
