We didn't stay here but called in for afternoon tea. The staff were lovely and helpful to my dad with some steps he was finding difficult. The afternoon tea was under a tenner and comprised mixed sandwiches, fruit cake, cream scone, two tray bakes and a lovely Scottish dessert, cranachan. So full after. Three of us shared one tea pretty...

We are at the hotel just now, we are staying for 2 night DBB, we asked for a spacious room as we were bringing the dogs, we are in room 26, which is a family room in the attic area of the original part of the hotel. It's a great size room, with a large bathroom, there is a large...

Lovely hotel in a nice setting. Staff very pleasant and very helpful. Good food and bar facilities. We upgraded to a executive double for £20 well worth it if you like plenty space. Hotel clean but could do with a bit of TLC. Will definately return in the near future.

Back to this lovely place for the third time as it's comfy , clean and cosy and is very dog friendly . We have relatives in nearby Castle Douglas so use hetland hall when we go to visit because we can take the dogs with us . The staff are friendly , the food is always spot on , two...

Just back from a visit to Hetland Hall Hotel and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We paid £69 for dinner, bed and breakfast and it's certainly the best we have had in that price bracket. A little money spent on the hotel could make it a truly top end property but at the price we paid (and all the other guests...

Booked for a "birthday" getaway and was told when booked that the hotel was busy so we could get a double room but it would be a "smaller" double. We didn't mind that and booked up anyway. Drove 2hrs to get there and we were put in the "attic area", Room 27 to be exact. The bed was clean but...

The buildings are rather run down but there are signs of work being carried out. Externally the grounds are nice with an open view south to the Solway Firth and Lake District; again maintenance being done (including some potholes in the driveway). Did not see the bedrooms in the original Victorian building but our bedroom at first floor level in...

Obviously going through renovation and the 70's extension looks awful from the outside but staff lovely, helpful, grounds gorgeous and perfect for the dog. Food very tasty too. Prompt. Room clean but in need of renovations. Double glazing would help. Room cold at night but heater provided warmed room up quickly

I was a bit disappointed wi this hotel, it was tired and our room was comfortable enough but when we go there the toilet bulb had gone (obviously not checked when room cleaned) and the bins were not emptied and the toiletries in room were not replenished on the second day. Dinner was very good in the restaurant and ok...
