This hotel is undergoing refurbishment. The staff are pleasant and helpful, the food was good value in quality and quantity. The room was spotlessly clean as was the en suite. To get into the wardrobe you had to move the bedside table but we were in the part awaiting to be refurbished which was obvious by the state of the...

Stayed here overnight but would not return. The building is lovely however desperately in need of some tlc. My room was very tired, shabby and not overly clean - especially the bathroom! Food was really disappointing - evening meal was ok but not brilliant, breakfast and lunch was appalling - lunch in particular - microwaved to death but cold. Could...

Only after booking a 2 night deal did I research the local attractions of which there seemed to be precious few. When the local highlights feature shopping malls, garden centres and anything even faintly associated with Robbie Burns, the omens are not great, so I feared the worst. The hotel proved to be a pleasant surprise. Our room (No 2)...

This is an old building that is looking a bit tired and needing a bit of TLC. The food was excellent in Quality and Quantity and well described on an attractive menu. All the staff were pleasant and helpful and made our stay enjoyable. We were in room 1 which was large and facing the back of the building. It...

Visited hetland hall hotel today for lunch with a friend and my son for lunch and it couldn't have been better! The renovations are well under way and it's lovely to see the hard work that's going into this place something this area is needing! The food and service was first class! Will definitely be back in the near future...

Stayed here using a Wowcher deal. I was a bit dubious having read some of the reviews. I've stayed in some amazing places and this wasn't one of them but it WAS great for a little getaway. We were upgraded from a standard room to a deluxe room free of charge. we were given room 1 which is huge! It's...

The room we had (9) was freezing cold with a fan heater as the sole heating the bathroom was disgusting and smelt like a public toilet the view from the bedroom window looked like a bomb site with old sinks and baths, wood, pipes. When asked if it would be possible to be moved we were offered another room just as disgusting....

I recently stayed here on the 11th Feb-12th Feb. I traveled from Sheffield. We arrived at the hotel at around 12pm and our rooms were not ready but managed to sort out paperwork and was able to leave our bags. There was a warm friend welcome when arrive. I went to Dumfries for a sporting event which meant a full...

Special weekend DB&B offer which was excellent. Hotel in process of major building works but this didn't affect our comfort. Restaurant menu (for our offer) was limited but the quality was very good and the staff were great. Only comment would be "why not light the wood fire in the hallway?" This would have made the hotel ambiance even more...
