This is properly dog-friendly hotel, not only were the pet-friendly rooms just as nice as the others, dogs were also welcome in other areas of the hotel. We were very pleased that Arthur and Hector could join us for both breakfast and the evening meal. Our room was warm and clean with a comfy bed and a very nice ensuite. Food was super and the breakfasts superlative. We were made to feel very welcome. Definitely recommended if you need somewhere nice to stay in the area, and good value for money too.
We stayed for one night and had a wonderful experience, the room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable, and the hosts were very welcoming and friendly, couldn’t do enough for us. Surrounded by beautiful views, couldn’t have wished for a better experience. From the choices of Breakfast available we had a cooked breakfast and it was absolutely delicious. Thank you for a wonderful stay and look forward to returning.
We stayed for a golf trip for one night. The Hotel was in a good location in a smart older building. The rooms where clean and modern, the breakfast was excellent and the staff were helpful. Would recommend.
We were greeted immediately by a very friendly owner of the property who we found to be very helpful. Our room (7) was very generously proportioned. With a double and a single bed. I really liked the decor. The en-suite has been modernised and looks good. We enjoyed the excellent cooked breakfast. The eggs, sausage and bacon tasted particularly good.
We had an excellent stay at the Glen Hotel . Our room was nicely decorated and spotlessly clean with beautiful views over the garden . We enjoyed an evening meal which was freshly prepared and very enjoyable .Highly recommend the sticky toffee pudding . Breakfast was excellent quality and well presented. This is a gem of a place and the hosts were very friendly and helpful . Would not hesitate to recommend a stay here .
This place has all the feel of home The food has an unbelievably home cooked feel The room is stunning and hotel is very clean and comfortable, as well as large, with a lounge area, my room was RM 1 , I can’t vouch for all the other rooms of course The owners are very friendly The bar in hotel stocks a nice range of alcohol and soft drinks Lovely stay, felt very relaxed and welcome
Beautiful old house in a quiet location. It’s a ‘wee’ walk up the hill to the town. The hotel is clean, a little tired and some tidying would be beneficial. Our bathroom was tiny, the windows need TLC. Disappointed that no cleaning or re-stocking was done due to ‘covid’ despite no restrictions for months. The bar was ok. The toilets downstairs were out of bounds/service, not sure why. The breakfast was outstanding!
We were booked here as part of our walking holiday by Celtic Trails and it was the most disappinting of the stays. From the start, it felt like we'd been thrown back to the early '90s by the slightly strict approach of the hosts. The room was fine (although not spotless) and the breakfast good enough (good porridge, overcooked boiled eggs). We also had a packed lunch from here which was a bit disappointing particularly as it included cheap ham which we'd been careful to avoid requesting.
Our party of 6 took 6 double bedrooms for a full week while we were fishing the Tweed. The hospitality was outstanding. All of the rooms were superb and we enjoyed every moment of our stay. Breakfast every time came out beautifully cooked and with generous helpings. We hope to return next year
booked the hotel via phone call. excellently dealt with. hotel was very easy to find, and we were not disappointed , fabulous old building, retaining lots of original caricature. the room was very spacious, and extremely comfortable, and exceptionally clean tidy. because we were out for the night, we required a taxi, so the lady of the house Antionette found us an excellent cab firm, who not only took us, but returned after midnight to return us to said hotel. Being a fan of rugby union, I was very pleased to discover that the Hotel was once owned by Jim Telfer, my boyhood hero. by the way my wife says the hotel had a homely atmosphere coupled with fantastic scenery surrounding the hotel.
