Little things mean a lot . . . It’s 15 years since my wife and I were last in Peebles and we opted for a last-minute, long-weekend break at the Park Hotel simply because we couldn’t get a reservation at the Cringletie where we had stayed previously. We didn’t know at the time that the Park is the sister hotel...

Firstly you got to mind the hotel only charges £49 per night, so you get what you pay for, however I could not fault the room, it was clean bright and spacious, the shower was average but functional. Now for the unsavoury bit, on our first night on return to the hotel, we went into the bar, after ordering drinks...

We only had an over night stay, the room was lovely, bathroom was clean but needs a little maintenance as the bath was peeling. The building is lovely and old with lots of beautiful panelling. The sitting room and dining room was massive and quirky...I loved the lights in the dining area. We only ate breakfast which was a continental...

The hotel was excellent value for money with a really good continental breakfast. The rooms to the rear of the hotel are far superior as they have some lovely views - the one we were initially given was small, overlooked the car park with a strong smell of smoke. The receptionist could not have been more helpful and understanding and...

Tempts you in with the promise of freshly baked pastries, muffins and tarts and expertly made barista coffees. Well not if you arrive at 10.15am with display shelves totally void of any tasty treats, the chef having "just arrived", and the coffee machine not yet switched on. Said we'd make do with the croissants left from the breakfast table but...

My second visit, was greeted by Lisa, very professional and helpful as were ALL the staff, to many to name. My room was spotless, view was great, excellent shower, comfy bed, I did not require my room serviced, Jackeline in housekeeping supplied me with all I required, she was very helpful and friendly.Soup was delicious.

This was our third trip to the Park in 8 months and we love it. The food again was good and I would happily travel miles for the chicken dinner. In our opinion this it a lovely, quaint hotel in an excellent location which is good value with good food. What really sets this hotel apart is the staff, on...
