My friend and I decided to book here for a child free weekend, we had a great time but agree with other reviews about the hotel looking a bit tired, it's definitely in need of som TLC. We both enjoyed lovely massages in the beauty salon but did find them a bit pricey. Food in the hotel restaurant was nice...

We thought we would join my son while he was working in Peebles and take his twin boys for a mini break. The hotel was very busy as there was a wedding taking place when we arrived but as it's a fairly big hotel it didn't interfere with us or the other guests. We had been there around 30 years...

The room was dark but comfortable; the picnic area for lunch is a joke ; pre packed sandwiches and pies! The grand dining room is ruined ; it's like a cafe ; breakfast disappointing; limited choice of dishes and cold . The new owners need to listen to long term guest views and rectify their flaws

Found this hotel extremely average in just about every way. Decor is tired & poor in rooms which have not been recently refurbished. I also didn't like hotel layout where you walk upstairs to reception and people just seem to wander around in the main walkway when you buy a drink because there is no real bar area. Food was...

This is an old hotel with a good history, I think it must have gone downhill and is now being gradually refurbished The setting is lovely, the front overlooks the river Tweed and the hills beyond Overall we did enjoy our stay but there were a few hiccups We were first shown a room off a corridor being repainted. We...

We had a lovely stay at the Peebles Hydro as a night away without the kids. We paid a little extra for a double feature room which had been recently refurbished. It was a lovely spacious room, very nicely decorated and very clean. A lovely large bathroom. The evening meal was lovely - good advice and he good was delicious....

Stayed here for a family get-together over Easter. We chose the location as it was central for everyone to get to. The hotel itself is quite grand looking on the outside but the rest of it just misses the 'wow' factor. My family (2 adults, 2 children) had an excellent ground floor family suite and others in the party had...

This is an old hotel but with great 'bones'. I spent one night there on a road trip with a friend. The room was very clean and slightly quirky in its decor. Nice though. Bathroom ditto. I had booked twin beds but got a super king... we decided to go for it because we were too tired after our journey...

A group of 5 uni friends met up '30 years after' for a cycling weekend. The hydro was a perfect choice. 5 single ensuite rooms, spacious clean and superb value. Breakfast was excellent and unlimited. Perfect for hungry cyclists. Glentress is a short cycle track ride away. The very pleasant Peebles high street is a short walk the other way....
