We bought an Itison voucher for lunch - supposedly for a set menu which would usually cost £22.95. Gosh - I'm glad we didn't pay the full amount. It started off very positively as we entered in to the lovely hallway with a roaring fire, and were shown upstairs to the dining room by a very pleasant lady. However, the...

We stayed 4 nights for a family wedding, all we can say is that we were looked after like lords and ladies. As for a venue it was first class as a wedding location. But this hotel is topclass as a holiday or use as a stop for a pitstop. The meals presented were first class, this is why it...

Lots of positives - beautiful setting, loved the room, which was really comfortable and tastefully furnished, food at dinner was mainly excellent (apart from a rock-solid parfait!), staff very friendly and helpful. Just spoiled a little by one or two 'misses': the fire in the lounge was allowed to go out after dinner, and it was really chilly sitting there...

This place aspires to be top-notch and luxurious, but unfortunately their afternoon tea falls rather short of this aspiration. You get the choice of either savoury or sweet, why not both? One or the other seems unnecessarily restrictive. The price is certainly high enough. We went for the savoury. The nibbles were very limited and of poor quality. The sausage...

Found a deal on Wowcher for one night dinner, bed and breakfast, checked tripadvisor and found the reviews to be really good so I booked it. The hotel itself is beautiful, it has a very cosy, homely feel and the staff were very informative and friendly certainly not stuffy in any way at all. Food was lovely, views were gorgeous,...

I received a present of a voucher for afternoon tea and decided to go with my sister. When we arrived we were greeted by a lovely lady and shown to a very nice table. I couldn't fault the atmosphere and staff however when our afternoon tea arrived I was so disappointed. The scones were stale and not warm, the sandwiches...

We booked two twin rooms last minute on DBB basis. This hotel is gorgeous- met at the door by Fiona who carried our bags and could not have been more helpful. Dinner was outstanding. Great wine list. We sat until 3am chatting in the drawing room- complete luxury infront of a roaring fire! Rooms were amazing and super clean. A...

Fabulous stay at Cringletie for a Tasty Sunday treat. We stayed in Jedburgh room, a ground floor king size, which was beautifully furnished with a lovely bathroom. The dinner with wines was excellent. My favourites were the lobster bisque with prawn and salmon, and the smoked potato mash with the beef dish. Can't fault this hotel and hope to return...

We took my wife's mother away for a weekend break and were delighted by the welcome we received at Cringletie House. We had booked their cottage in the grounds which meant we could all sit together in peace during the evening. The cottage was very warm and comfortable with all 'mod cons' and a hot tub in the garden seating...

Excellent lunch, service and surroundings and very good value. Had not been to Cringletie for years as I found it to be staid and stuffy but the new owners have completely revitalised the premises and ambience. Will definitely be going back later in the year when the grounds will be bonnier than at this time of year. There are lots...
