Location was great, very central in Melrose. The bed was comfy and room fine for my needs. Breakfast was plentiful with the usual cooked and other offerings. The hosts seemed to have all necessary Covid procedures in place while still managing to keep things comfortable. Would happily stay again.
The location of this B&B is fantastic. One minute walk up the street and you are at the Abby, two minute walk down the street and you have a supermarket and a variety of restaurants. Comfy beds, clean room, helpfull hosts and a amazing Scottish Breakfast
This is my 3rd visit to braidwood.. lovely helpful hosts and always a filling breakfast enjoy Melrose very much. Would not go anywhere else. Central to everything. My parents stayed here for a wedding too. Very hospitable.
I spent three nights at Braidwood Guest House whilst doing some training in Melrose. I was made to feel welcome and Mike and Helen were very helpful. My room was cosy with an extremely comfortable bed and it had everything I needed. The breakfast was substantial and kept me going for most of the day! Parking was easy right outside the guest house. I expect to be back again next year and will definitely book into Braidwood again.
We come here when we need to get the car serviced and they are always friendly and even like opur dogs! Good sized room and excellent breakfasts. Clean and warm rooms. Small enough hotel to be personal in their hosptitality.
Two friends and I stayed one night here before embarking on the St Cuthberts Way and couldn't have been more pleased with Braidwood B and B. Mike and Helen are very kind and hospitable hosts who provide an excellent, filling breakfast (including haggis!) and a very well presented and cosy room. I would thoroughly recommend a stay here. For the quality of the experience the prices were more than fair.
We first stayed in Melrose for the Borders Book Festival ten years ago and Braidwood was highly recommended. Since then we have stayed with Helen and Mike every year. They are friendly and helpful hosts. The rooms are beautifully decorated and the house is spotless. The breakfasts are outstanding.
We were given a room with 3 single beds in it. One room was in a separate alcove which was ideal for us. Very pleasant reception from our host. Big room. Comfortable beds. Good breakfast. The central, location is ideal for walkers and tourists.
We arrived in Melrose mid afternoon looking for tourist information office which no longer exists. We walked down first street from car park and saw Braidwood where our enquiry about a room was responded to positively and politely. Beautiful double ensuite with single bed in alcove. A good comfortable night was had. Very good and freshly cooked breakfasts were enjoyed. Highly recommended and good value.
We were walking St Cuthberts Way and had booked our B&B's through our Travel Agent and this B&B offered a very warm welcome and a perfect start to our week walking to Lindisfarne. We met up with some other walkers later in the week who started a day behind us and they also stayed here! Very nice place to explore the area from.
