The Mansfield House Hotel has now been awarded 4 stars from the Scottish Tourist Board.

The Mansfield House Hotel is situated in approximately 10 acres of established grounds on the outskirts of Hawick, the largest of the Border towns famous for the Common Riding, rugby and knitwear. The house was originally the private home of the Oliver family built in 1870. These entrepreneurs of the new industrial age tastefully influenced the many distinctive architectural features, from the thistle and rose ceilings in the lounge and reception areas, to the Russian pine shutters, skirting and doors throughout the main house. The hotel is family run by Lynn Evans and Stephen Murray who also have the sister hotel elm house hotel in Hawick. We are dog friendly we have wood land walks around hotel were you can watch roe deer some times badgers and foxes .we cater for large bus party for meal or stop over for the night with good rates. we also cater for weddings and functions up too 200 .

This hotel is absolutely perfect. The staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The breakfast choice is great and tastes beautiful. The evening meals in the restaurant are amazing. The rooms are very spacious, comfortable and beautifully decorated and furnished. The whole hotel is spotlessly clean and decorated and furnished to a high standard. Why this isn't a 5⭐️ hotel I will never know as the standard is extremely high. Thankyou so much for a perfect couple of nights away. We cannot wait to come back again ❤❤❤

A fabulous evening wedding reception provided by Lyn and her team! They managed to turn around a wedding that had just about been ruined by the lunchtime inadequacy of the Ednam House hotel in Kelso! The Mansfield went above and beyond to provide a lovely location and amazing buffet and also great rooms for all the staying guests . We finished an amazing stay with an excellent breakfast. The efficient, cheerful staff provide great all round service. The hotel is immaculate and utterly charming. Highly recommended!

What a lovely family run hotel. Staff were amazing and couldn't do enough for us. Lovely grounds, not that we could wander round due to bad weather. Loads of parking. Room was clean and well appointed. Bar was well stocked and very comfortable. Restaurant was lovely and the food was great. 20 minutes to walk into Hawick. We will be back with the dog!

We couldn’t fault a thing. Lynne are her team go above and beyond to ensure you have first class service and a fantastic break. The hotel sits in outstanding surroundings and is warm, welcoming and absolutely immaculate! The food in the Scottish/Italian restaurant is outstanding and the customer service is second to none. We stay regularly and have never been disappointed.

Spent 8 nights at this absolutely delightful hotel, From the minute we arrived until we left we could find no fault whatever. Staff were extremely polite and helpful. Breakfast was really good plenty of choice, food in the restaurant was delicious mixture of Italian/Scottish. We will certainly return and I would recommend. Thank you Mansfield House for making our holiday

We needed to stay in the borders for one night on our way back down, I booked the tower room as it sounded a bit quirky! At £160 for a night with breakfast it seemed reasonable, our welcome was fantastic! Very friendly and helpful, showed us where the restaurant and bar was and carried my case up to the room! Something I was glad about as the tower stairs are extremely steep ! Don’t book this room if you have mobility problems, it was a lovely room with a four poster and a shower room. No bath which was a pity but everything lovely and clean! A nice touch was a pod coffee machine. Large tv and up so high it was a lovely view! We had a couple of drinks in the bar and then dinner in the restaurant which was lovely! Huge menu! I can’t compliment the service enough, everyone was so helpful and cheery! When in the room we couldn’t hear anything from the rest of the hotel so a perfect room! The only thing I would change (this is incase it can be easily remedied) is the beautiful bed squeaked terribly! So much so that when I moved in my sleep it woke me up! Just an observation. Thanks for the lovely stay

What a delightful experience! I accidentally ended up here as I intended to stop in Edinburgh but got tired of driving and looked up nearest hotel. Delightful, oppulence, all round from start to finish. Great restaurant, (Italien/Scotish), Food and wine .I have stayed in lots of upmarket establishments ((Country houses etc)with no great character, but this is such a comfortable, cosy, palatial type of place, that I feel obliged to write a review, which I never do. Delightfull,no money spared, designed to fulfill your every whim. The Bed!!! So so comfy, clean. I stay in hotels a lot but as I stated at the start,Its Heaven on Earth...I cannot fathom why its a 3 star estanlishment???
