The Kings Knoll is about halfway up the hill on the road out of town. It was a bit too far for me and my wife to walk into town, but if you were in a reasonable state of fitness it would be no problem. A hint on parking in Oban: the ferry terminal is right next to the train...

We stayed here for two nights midweek. The welcome was warm and friendly but not overpowering. We had room 7 which was small with a very small bathroom, but it was adequate. The room and bathroom were very dated and could do with some TLC, ( a new shower curtain would be good) but it was clean with hot water...

We arrived early evening following a 6 hour motorcycle ride in torrential rain. The owner welcomed us and suggested we might like to get comfortable before completing the check in. This was an excellent idea as were all longing for a hot shower. The food was good and good value. The hotel has a great location on the main road...

I stayed here with my small dog for 4 nights and we had a nice time. The location is great - just up the road from the seafront but not too close to the noisy restaurants and bars. The room was a good size & was comfortable. Personally, I wouldn't recommend the food but this didn't matter too much as...

Stayed 2 nights in room 22 on 9th and 10th of May and could not fault or stay. Room was big, clean, comfy and had fabulous views across the bay. Staff were friendly and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble and the Scottish cooked breakfast was excellent. Having priced mini suites with sea views in other hotels this was good...

We had room 4. Window does not shut ... Held in by a screw thing leaving a half inch gap. Screw fell out. Handle came off dressing table drawer. Shower does not work at all. En suite is miniscule.. Very dated. No wifi in most of rooms to judge by comments in lounge. Couldn't hear all of the argument from...

The hotel was very quiet, so quiet we got upgraded to a "sea view" room at no extra cost. Apart from Tom the proprietor, we never saw another member of staff, I hope he gets more staff in when the hotel is busy. The location is more convenient than it might look from the map, probably closer to the town...

We stayed here for tow nights. We chose a sea view room and unlike the episode of Fawlty towers where Mrs Richards failed to appreciate the view, we really did. Huge windows gave us a wonderful view of the harbour. The room was clean, had good tea making facilities and a comfy and large double bed. Free wifi and a...

Arrived late on, but as still out of season, was offered a room, with a glorious view over the bay. Have stayed here before, and found the owners amiable. Tom has good local knowledge, and advice. Room was spacious, breakfast good (once i worked out how to operate toaster) Business meant i was gone too soon. If in area again, will...

Stayed here for 2 nights short break. Warm welcome on arrival & friendly staff throughout our stay. Our room was comfortable & clean, with tea/coffee making facilities. The bathroom was very small & a bit dated compared to the bedroom but was clean & toiletries were provided. The shower was poor, however, as I couldn't wash my hair due to...
